1. Some amazing vintage Fenders on BC just now (and at amazing prices too!) - this one is just gorgeous!
2. What a lovely retro rig - quality. Not sure on the choice of lager though (that Sound City needs a Watney's Party Seven next to it - period detail is important).
3. I'm no expert (and I'm sure that somebody will come along with an 'official' answer) but I've seen a few like this where the transfer wouldn't show on a dark coloured MHS
4. Absolutely lovely - looks like a nice, dark Brazillian board too (maybe a Fender expert could chime in - I think Fender had stocks of Brazillian into the later part of '65 and beyond). Fantastic price...and bump
5. I too lusted after these in the '70s - utterly monstrous and THE cab to have. Eventually I got hold of something similar (custom build for Sad Cafe with a Cerwin Vega 18" and a front facing 12" driver) - it was fantastic - a killer punch 15-20' out from the stage. I have absolutely no use for such a cab now but would snap this up if I could justify it. Have a bump - wiping away a nostalgic tear.
6. Sunny Saturday Mancunia bump (love these as I would, there's no way of justifying it)
7.
Thanks for the info! Have you had any issues since then?
Hi, no problem. No further issues at all - a fantastic amp though weight isn't particularly welcome. I use a db680 as a preamp too so the combined weight is a bit of a joke.
8. Absolutely lovely Clarky - well done! i'd keep the guard on and reinforce the jack. The old Brazillian board looks fantastic with the clay dots. This is an absolute classic and one of my favourite looks - I'm very envious!
9. Just received a pair of straplocks from John - possibly the easiest and fastest deal in the history of BC. Advertised at 12.00 one day, arrived at 9.00am the next! Fantastically friendly communications throughout - suberb packing and the most rapid of deliveries. Cheers John - all the help is very much appreciated
10.
Will report back once the transformation is done, it should be simple ive been told but there was a long thread here in BC about an issue with the transformation
I suspect that you're referring to my thread in 'amps and cabs' - the transformation requires replacement of the circuit breaker switch (a £75 unit as far as I can remember) and some internal re-wiring. Be careful with placement of the jumper switch and ensure that you have the thermistor in place. A bit of effort will deliver immense reward - probably my favourite amp head (well, this and the Epifani ul502). I'd agree entirely on the double handled rack case and the trolley. I'm thinking about a shockrack with castors. The DB750 is immensely heavy (I had to carry mine for half a mile from the Parcelforce depot when it arrived - 'absolutely knackered).
11. Absolutely lovely set-up - one that would grace any stage, anywhere in the world.
12. Protec Contego would be my choice - excellent protection and reasonably priced (around £75). I have an iGiG and a Mono - both excellent bags but much more expensive than the Protec and possibly not quite the same level of protection (for the body and front/back of the neck at least).
13. I'm going to get around to a bit of weeding tonight - they've come on lovely since the photographs. A quick bump for a lovely bass - the string spacing defeated me too.
14.
I'm about to get an Aguilar 659
Lovely! I doubt you'll be disappointed
15. This is an absolutely fantastic price for a Celinder J. OK it's not an update but it's got to be an incredible bargain at 1270. If anybody is wavering, just stop and go for this beauty. I've had the pleasure of playing and owning some outstanding instruments in the past few years (Fodera, Wal, Alembic, Alleva Coppolo etc - the list goes on). Among the best of the best was a Celinder - Christian Celinder's artistry, attention to detail and skill are something to behold. Beyond that there's a bit of magic - I can't really say what it is, but Celinders just feel so good in the hand. I only play short-scale now, but this bass at this price is getting me excited
16. Absolutely fantastic cabs - 'really shouldn't have sold mine. Along with the Agi DB112, my favourite cab ever.

One day I'll get a proper image of this
18. Love the understated simplicity of the design allied with extremely classy finishing and attention to detail. If it sounds and plays anything like as good it looks, it's a very formidable instrument!
19.
And also correct!
'Honestly haven't time to get into a discussion of semantics, but I don't think we're operating in the world of definitives here
20. Fantastic full pro touring rig - looks the part too! Good luck. What does the head weigh in the shock rack - I bet it's immense!?
21. QUOTE (OzMike @ Mar 13 2011, 05:04 AM) * If you haven't listened to the (IMHO) classic and tasteful use of the technique, and 'hate it', then it's a matter of not being educated and informed.
Ha ha ha ha...love it,
Hahaha - me too: brilliant! Condescending, patronising and ironic in equal measure!
22. Here you go and less than a fiver (I've had the black version): http://www.gamlinsmusic.co.uk/musical-inst...ers-white-8271/
23. I've had (and still have) several basses with fretted ebony boards. I find the tone - in general - to be bright and very clear across the spectrum (from deep lows through mids and into the highs). Of course, there are many factors that affect tone, but ebony is my favourite for boards because of its clarity and the quality that it - seems to - afford to the fundamental. My current ebony boarded basses are Alembics so there's a lot going on besides the board - there is a real complexity to the tone though, and I'm convinced that some of this is down to the board.
24. Wow - absolutely lovely - great idea!
