  2. Hello ! Do you still have the amp? I'm interested !
  3. I've never heard of it. Time for a google search Dave
  4. Exactly how I feel. Unfortunately if my band folded I could never find a band situation like the one I'm in with Maple Road. The nicer bookings. I'm driven to our gigs My bandmates and band leader are incredible. Very good money. Daryl
  5. Agreed, however the baby boomers here are not giving up on going out. Many still indulging in their old habits. We draw an older crowd. A lot of them, like me in their 70s. They grew up when live music was a huge part of their lives (the Woodstock generation). These folks are still going out and thank God they don't know when to quit. I was talking to an 80 year old guy at our gig last Saturday night. He was talking about the fact that he still drives, lives independently. He said loves the grooves and loves to dance. Daryl
  6. Selling my Mesa D800. Bought from BC in mint condition and have only used for a handfull of gigs. Still in mint condition as its lived in the case at home. Collection ideal but happy to ship at buyer's expense. Any questions give me a shout.
  7. Thanks all Mudpup have sent a pm
  8. I had to play Spain in University jazz band. Fun but very difficult. Daryl
  9. Today
  10. Hi, I'm looking to buy a second hand Marcus miller jazz bass guitar if anyone has one for sale. Thanks
  11. If you visit the house tomorrow I have 2 amps that fit the spec that you can try out. They aren't for sale but you can check them out....
  12. I really want to try a subspace! That’s a pretty epic board for 3 pedals - nice!
  13. Well done. You're a better man than me. I couldn't do a jam these days. Dave
  14. These are excellent bass combos ive been using one for the last few years you can save as many patches with amp and speaker simulations as you like into set lists and recall via amp footswitch or mobile phone with the fender tone app it also has every effect you could possibly want.no need for any effects pedal board. you can also download via built in wifi new custom made patches for free with the tone app it also sounds great and its not to heavy GLWTS
  15. Semi-retirement ? you're busier than i've ever been. You'll never retire Pete, you love it too much and leaving your gear in the venue is a gift from heaven. 😂 All the best with this new project, sure it'll be a walk in the park for you. And there's another choice song for the request band. Itchycoo Park. Dave
  16. I was listening to some songs from my old band the other week and kinda missed my maple necked P bass, glorious Fender Japan '57ri sunburst with a gold plate I added (if you have it give me a shout!) ... so went looking on eBay at maple necked Precisions.... Years back I lived in Glasgow for a year and found an old beat up Cimar 1905 model Jazz bass from 1975ish bought it knowing a friend was going to have it, @Bassassin helped me fix it up, and it was just fun thing, fun to play and a bright bouncy sound.... nice. I regretted selling it to the mate (although he has loved it since.) And then in my search on eBay for a precision I found a Jazz like the cimar ... and stuck in a bid... and lost.... A week later I got a second chance offer and a few days later it arrives - sold as broken from someone selling for a family member. So other than knowing what it was maybe going to be like a bit of a risk... So it's a Japanese made 1975-76 ish Jazz bass, the headstock is branded Diplomat who I think were a kiwi distributor, but it's very close to both the other one and assassin's one - so Cimar/Ibanez/ Fujigen build probably. It's ash and maple, kinda cheap - pressed tuners that look cheap but seem to work well, square end bridge, the old curved end Japanese pickups, the most evil bridge design known to man, the pots which need replaced and just a bright engaging tone... first thing I found taking it out the box was wasn't far off being in tune that the neck relief was spot on. A good sign. Though the action was High. Then I noticed that the evil bridge had something missing... so the evil sticky out screws to adjust the height are on the bottom, with the nice rounded ends facing up (an improvement) - but the adjustment screws... erm... but the intonation was pretty much spot on... And then soldering the wires back - I imagin they were broken when the old owner tried to fix the dodgy pots... and it comes alive... And yeah they feel, look and sound like TI jazz flats on it too! So yeah my new precision bass ...

  17. Good advice from Bill. I had that same cab many years ago and it improved a lot when I replaced the nasty, flimsy Fender drive unit, added some simple bracing and acoustic foam and lengthened the port (I used a shelf of ply to extend it).
  18. My AG700 is simple - 4 band eq, input gain and master and that's about it - and powerful. It's been reliable over the years I've had it. It'll probably go pop now I've said that...
  19. Just bought a set of La Bella flats from Ash at a very good price. They arrived very quickly too! It’s been a pleasure to do business with him - thanks very much!
  20. What keeps me in the game is the fact that I wouldn't know what to do with myself if playing music was no longer part of my life. I've been doing it for more than 50 years and it would leave a big hole if it ended. As is the case with many musicians, my social life is heavily tied up in it. A lot of friends are musicians. It's also a major part of who I am - my identity and how I perceive myself.
  21. It's been a while but here is some more Jeff Berlin. This time, it is the complete bass part for the tune 'Fu Bu Ki' from the 1988 Kazumi Watanabe album, 'Spice Of Life Too'. It's mostly alternating bars of 9:8 and 5:4 so 'break a leg'! https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/fu-bu-ki-kazumi-watanabe/
  22. I agree with those who say bullet dodged. It does sound as if the others were not on the same page as you, so it would only have been a matter of time before a falling-out occurred. As you've nothing to lose, ask the singer if it's bugging you. If she's gone along with it, she's hardly in your corner and it isn't as if you'll be burning any bridges if the deed has already been done.
  23. Fender MIM Strat in tobacco sunburst with maple neck and fretboard. Very good condition, couple of tiny dinks - please see pics Frets and fretboard in tip top shape - only been used at home for practice, never gigged. Includes a decent Ritter gig bag. Selling on behalf of a friend (if that's not allowed, please let me know), the guitar is in Leeds LS7 £400 posted or £385 collected.
  24. And cost of living. Prices of drinks (and everything else) going up, less spare cash = less punters spending money = pubs cutting back on bands. And yes, Covid seems to have had a big effect on attitudes to going out. Definitely noticed it at our local pub venue.
  25. Bijou and beautiful The important bit here is my clean blender Renders all sorts of problematic pedals useful.
  26. Power supply included ?
  27. Thank you dude, I appreciate the bump. It is awesome, like all ACGs, and it wouldn't be going if I wasn't planning an immediate replacement.
