Ovation Magnum II Fretless with Graphic EQ
HeadlessBassist replied to Happy Jack's topic in Basses For Sale
My eye (yes, I have two. Don't worry...) was caught by the cool looking lever at the top of the bridge - does this amazingly manly bass have a lever that deploys the string mutes? Bet MusicMan wish they'd thought of that before adding those fiddly tiny metal round screws under the bridges of Classic Stingrays. Seriously impressed by the intonation calibration markings on the bridge as well. If Bang & Olufsen made basses, they would make basses like this. -
A few coats of poly lacquer! On the lookout for an emg soapbar/mm/tb pickup 🤔

Indeed it is. Build thread here.

Ah! I see. Shame about the latency issue! I can understand why you’d choose a hardware option now. I have an aging Mac (well according to Apple it’s old now!) and run many plugins either within a DAW or, like the Cory Wong, stand alone. Latency is negligible. For double bass and electric bass, the EBS Stanley Clark is a nice lil preamp, but I love the Bergantino Super Pre!

I don't do any deps without prep time and a decent fee (unless there are multiple events I'm needed for with the same band). It saves me hours of short notice stress for little reward and, most importantly, I always like to do the songs (and band I'm depping) with justice....

That's only one step away from cargo shorts! 😁

Fortunately, they aren't changing them on the fly, but they've played 'their' arrangements of some songs for so long. The setlist changes every gig and it seems they have a LOT of songs stashed away that reappear, so each one is learn the basics then get their arrangement.

I feel like a b**** for doing this but you did say... -

Agree! A proper synth block or more modulation blocks would be good. Darkglass listens to user feedback and requests. I hope they line it up in the future. For me, I'm hoping they would add a nice moog block and a 1073 preamp.

One from this stable, it would seem ... Shuker Custom Bass ...

That's an unusual looking bass. Any details welcome. Dave

My last car puncture was from lost screw from a cars inner wing or cow catcher below the engine. Pop into any local garage and they'll keep a stock of them. Easy fix by yourself. Dave

I agree with you that it would be great to see effects other than dirt, but I can understand why they've added these. It seems that a common theme when the Anagram was released was that many bass players wanted alternative drive sounds to the typical modern Darkglass sound. These 4 new blocks should keep those people happy for a while.

Your post had me searching for a 4 stringer version. 😂 A bit too much at the moment and probably doesn't fit in with a 70's Glam covers band. Dave
