If it's uneconomical to repair by a tech, you won't lose anything by trying yourself. I'm sure you'd find a good youtube video and get a few clamps from a hardware shop or B&Q, or somewhere thar repairs furniture. It's just wood. Removing the string tension will stop it getting bigger before the repair.

Your oldest and newest bass playing photos

Oldest: No Fat On A Turkey 6th August 1991 - the day I first picked up a Bass. (My brother's Hohner Jack... I had to lie and tell him someone else was playing Bass - he'd lend it to a stranger but not to me. Cheers, mate.) We thought we were the next Stone Roses... we were not. Newest: Depping with Manchester Ska Foundation last month - joined the audience for "One Step Beyond" Playing the Sterling - not my first choice for ska, just fancied a change! -
2 superb bass cabs In great condition, that have served me well but dont get used anymore and need a new home. Everything works without any issues, a couple of hex nuts missing off the back but can be easily replaced for pence if you really need to. Comes with 2 Hotcovers protective covers worth over £100. Specs Ashdown ABM 410H 600w 8ohm Ashdown ABM 115 300w 8ohm

I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.

High Quality 3/4 DB Gigbag - suggestions?
PaulKing replied to Happy Jack's topic in EUB and Double Bass
I'm still really happy with my Roth & Junius after a few years heavy use. Recommended, good value. https://www.thomann.co.uk/roth_junius_bsb_04_3_4_og_bass_soft_bag.htm £219 Ample protection, thick foam, really sturdy handles everywhere you need them, comfy 'rucksack' shoulder straps with back-up straps round the neck, strong zips. Doesn't show any signs of strain anywhere. They do a 4/4 too, if the Alcoa needs it. Only downer is that it is quite bulky for storage. Doesn't easily fold down or compress, so needs almost as much space as the bass itself. -

Up for sale is my Hercules GS405B Shoksafe Bass Stand, a high quality stand in great condition. Due to the length and weight, this is going to be expensive to send folded up - so £32 is the asking price including postage. Anyone who'd like to collect this themselves can have it for £25. Both good prices for a practically new GS405B. Any questions let me know.

Bands that make me question why I ever thought I could write music No. 537548684748t57475 (not really😞 Lowen, a London band fronted by the daughter of Iranian refugees, who describe themselves as 'crushing progressive doom steeped in the history of the ancient middle-east and the empty vistas of space'. My description - the most gloriously apocalyptic, emotive, powerful, ethereal & downright beautiful music I have heard in a very long time. -

Apologies for going 'off topic' but I have done another mahoosive Al Di Meola chart that I have really proud of. This is the solo guitar part for the tune 'Esmeralda' from the 2015 Al Di Meola album, 'Elysium'. I do these for my own purposes but it seems silly just to keep them to myself. Let your guitar player friends know about them if you think they may be interested. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/esmeralda-al-di-meola/
