  2. QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. 3. Nope, the truss rod is headstock end on the op ibanez, so my directions are correct to loosen the tension. If you were looking at the truss rod from the opposite direction, i.e. looking from headstock end down the neck to the body it'll be turning in opposite direction.
  4. Re advertised with reduced price. I’ll give this a couple of days and then withdraw it again. Selling at a reduced price before I trade it in. Fender Musicmaster Bass 1971 This is the rarer first issue of the Musicmaster bass. This is the baby of the Fender range of this era and has a 30” scale. This early version has the smaller logo and model name with the distinctive hooked R. The tuners are original with the tulip shaped keys, later models had Schaller types. The neck is nice and easy to play, it has a lovely dark rosewood board and 19 frets. Truss rod works as it ought to and the action is low and comfortable. It also intonates very well for a two saddle bridge shorty. The bass had been modded years before I bought it and had been routed for a reversed Precision bass pickup rather than the original rather weedy sounding Strat pickup. I swapped the pickup for a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder as the fitted pickup was in poor condition. I also removed the ‘choke’ from the original wiring circuit as this was probably used to make the original Strat pickup sound darker. I will include the choke with the bass. The pots and Bakelite knobs are all original. The scratchplate is one I made. It’s rather rough but does the job. I have the original one but it has been modded to accommodate the P pickup and the original pickup cavity patched. I’ll include this of course. The finish is original with lots of dings, touch ups, crazing and darker patches where stickers have been removed. It has had a long life as a gigged bass. It looks great because it’s been played and loved. I’ve personally used this for all my gigs over the last year. It sounds punchy and has a surprising tonal range. It’s light at around 3.7kgs and very easy to play. I’m selling because I’m getting back to playing long scales. I don’t want trades sorry and it’s UK only. I can post at the buyer’s expense and/or arrangement.
  5. Excellent condition lightly used Mic Mechanic vocal pedal. This is the V2 version. Affectionately known as the 'talent pedal' by the rest of the band, has a lovely inbuilt EQ that sweetens up the vocal. Also has onboard echo, reverb and pitch correction. Price includes UK postage, but no power supply or box.

  6. At 7.53 in this video the bassist in Lynyrd Skynrd wished that wireless guitar systems had been invented in 1976. In fact, after this incident, he may have been the person who actually invented them
  7. This one just came across my desktop and I thought I would have a look to see where the head was going. This is the closing head at 4:28 of the tune 'Mr. D.C.' from a live recording by John McLaughlin and The 5th Dimension (2022) https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/adoracion-eddie-palmieri/
  8. The PAR floods are prtty much what i have on my Party Light bar I quite like the multiple single coloured bulbs as they give a sense of movement, and the tri light bundle is pretty much standard for bands. It's interesting that both of us and @Rosie Cseem to have gone for lamps around 20W each. four of those gove a decent amount of light on a small stage without blinding people. I have got a couple of 180W Par lights I bought before I'd really thought things through and they are mad, there's no way you could use them in small venues and the only time i've used them successfully is outdoors. Those Stairville floods look great because of the 45deg spread of light. Proper floods which is what you need when the lights are necessarily close to you. Too many of these lights have too narrow a beam.
  9. A bit of Latin on a sunny Sunday morning, this is the Andy Gonzalex bass part from the tune 'Adoración' from the 1973 album, 'Sentido' from the recently deceased Eddie Palmieri. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/adoracion-eddie-palmieri/
  10. Yep i remember the days when you could go see a band every night of the week and they were free access too. Dave
  11. Our drummer wears a hat most gigs but never had any issues. ? Might be better mentioning it to him next time. 👍 Dave
  12. Ok, so GAS has got the better of me (again) and I’ve splurged a load of cash on something else, so this is now available for £120 including UK second class delivery.
  13. If you use this like I get 90p commission! https://amzn.to/4m67EGR
  14. I searched the British Newspaper Archive last night and found a tiny ad for a gig by my old band Two Moon Junction (named after a spicy movie) at the 'Newt and Cucumber', in 1993. The extraordinary thing is a pub putting on three live bands for a Monday Night. Things were different then.
  15. Just get a suitable Allen key and give it successive quarter turns anti clock wise, retuning after each quarter turn I had exactly this problem in my acoustic bass. plenty of videos on the net but if you hold the thickest string at first and last fret and cannot see a small gap between the string and the 9th fret you have too much backbow
  16. I'll look them up. Never heard of them till now.
  17. Does anyone remember James Dace music in Chelmsford?
  18. Only really an intense dislike of rickenbackers, however the topic says “irrational” and that prejudice is not irrational, so I’m out for a duck
  19. I preferred the sound of the full GR Bass setup because it was the more neutral (that's their key signature) tone with the upper mids slightly missing in the Glockenklang that was coupled to an Eich amp (which is very similar to GR Bass sound wise). If you like the Glockenklang tone [which was my favourite before discovering GR Bass and now the more than amazing, and hard to find, Hevos (Dutch brand sadly not made anymore) Midget 10 combo], go on, buy it, try it with your PJB head and draw your own conclusions. If it's not to your liking, try a GR Bass Cube AT 112, they are amazing. Or this Hevos Midget 10 cabinet that will certainly be the best choice for you: https://www.public-peace.de/hevos-midget10.html
  20. I now have a 12 string in-coming so this is now £425
  21. Gotta love a USA Sterling, a better all rounder than a stingray in my humble opinion.
  22. Some from Oxford: Blackwell's, which used to be a good place to go for sheet music. Later, it became a discount bookshop and then a restaurant. Now it's part of Wadham college. ABC, where I got my first decent bass amp (Trace Eliot BLX130) in 1994. Later a Threshers, then Sainsbury's, now to be demolished. Russell Acott, old location shown here when they had moved out of the centre and the site had been taken over by All Bar One. I never got around to visiting after they moved and it's too late now.
  23. Bargain, forget your PJB headphone amps these are another level and no cables! love mine
  24. All started with a gulf of misunderstanding.
