  2. I am saving this for when my wife moans about my mess! (I need to google what PiPedal is!)
  3. Why not offer it for sale?
  4. Thanks Sean, I'll check now. ๐Ÿ‘
  5. Thanks mate, good to know. I'm really looking forward to eventualy getting one and knowing that that sort of money is ok reassures me. I've had a few MIJ Fenders and they were incredible so wouldn't doubt the quality of the Grecos and thankfully I can 'afford' it so don't have to go down the Chinabacker route.
  6. Thanks, will have a play with that ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Mainly because the foot switch seemed to have become pretty noisy, and it was annoying me ๐Ÿ˜… Perhaps I should just look at fitting a new one, IF it is the foot switch and not a symptom of another component failing.
  8. Off to see Volbeat in Cardiff tomorrow, Dogma at the Thekla in Bristol in May then Metallica also in Cardiff in June. This will be mixed with all the tribute bands i'll be mixing throughout most of the year so get a good mix of it all. Actually i'll be seeing Dirty DC in Weymouth in a couple of weeks as well, can't forget that one, i'm being paid to go ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  9. Got to reduce my hoard. Where should i post to get feelers for interest ?
  10. If It Don't Fit, Don't Force It โ€” Barrelhouse Annie
  11. She's great, I've got a few of her albums. Haven't seen her live yet, but I think she's touring in the UK in January so I'll be grabbing a ticket.
  12. That sounds like a good deal. Greco Ricky copies from the 1970โ€™s were pretty much the top of the heap back in the day. Arguably, they were so good that Rickenbacker took action to stop production, hence the term โ€œlawsuit bassesโ€. Prices are creeping up over time. Iโ€™ve seen them go for up to โ‚ฌ1000 in Japan, so your โ€œall inโ€ price seems favourable. Whatever, the quality of the Greco instruments is outstanding. A Chinabacker is a poor comparison if you donโ€™t want hold out for a 2nd hand 4001/3.
  13. Blues power - Albert King
  14. Welcome
  15. They got better โ€ฆ๐Ÿš‘ nothing quite like renouncing the ways of The Dark Side ๐Ÿ‘
  16. Thereโ€™s a thread on the Basschat Market Place section called Whatโ€™s It Worth (or similar). Although, you may need to be a subscribing member to access it.

  18. Got to reduce my hoard. Where should i post to get feelers for interest or what price i should ask for?
  19. How do all I've just got hold of a really nice German made Adler PJ body from @Aidan63 (top guy) that I plan on using as my first bass build. There isn't a massive amount of grain in the wood but enough for me not to want to cover it with paint, so I'd planned on an oiled finish. I've never done this before (or built a bass either) and don't want to screw it up so would welcome any advice that's available. Having read lots of articles there seem to be several alternatives - Tru Oil, Tung Oil and others - and I'd rather not have to apply nitro lacquer on top if at all possible, so I'd greatly appreciate guidance, whatever is available. Also, what other materials will I need, including grades of sandpaper? Cheers Paul
  20. Hi Sean, that's very kind of you, yeah, if you'd care to share that'd be greatfully obliged! Cheers, Matt
  21. Thanks heaps Blue Moon! That's all good to know, there's one that I'm looking at that I think would cost about 900-1000 euros for a Greco RB 700 landed with all fees paid. I'm just a little unsure as to whether that's a good or not so good price, as in, am I better off waiting to see if something similar comes along here, on 'Rickenfakers' Facebook page or else something in the EU? Cheers again for the info!
  22. Let's get some perspective, not every bassist needs a P Bass. However, if you only had one bass? P Bass. Why not a Jazz Bass? Body shape, more unstable on a stand and single coil pickups.
