  2. Looks like there are some new colours for the JJB-300. Anyone seen any in the UK? Bass Guitar – JET Guitars
  3. Last night's rehearsal (at the local village hall, our regular practice venue) was largely a celebratory home made meal and several bottles of wine to thank our sound engineer who is present at every gig but who rarely gets noticed behind the desk. His first gig with the Hulla band (before I was with them) was landed as a result of the single qualification he had - that he was available on the day. He was placed behind a 32 channel mixing desk and had to do FOH sound for several bands at an outdoor event in the village. From no knowledge of sound engineering, he has become a very knowledgeable and capable operator of the desk and now takes the annual Hullabaloo festival (last year - 6 bands, a choir and 850 festival goers) in his stride. He has even branched out into DJing. We did manage a couple of songs. Our next gig is the annual Crown Court Christmas party so we concentrated mainly on the Christmas standards we'd be expected to play. After the bottles of wine, it wasn't the sharpest rehearsal and there are only two more before the gig but with a bit of work I think we'll be ok. I was trying out my Sire Z7 last night. It needs a setup but is still very playable. I was also back to my pedal board after a couple of minimalist gigs with just a DI. Unfortunately, in wiring it all up yesterday afternoon, I mist have made a mistake as the output levels were well below normal and I had to resort to bypassing almost all the pedals and just going through the (new) Valeton GP5. All good in the end.
  4. What a stunner buddy! Have a bump on me 👌👌👌
  5. On Friday I went and saw the fantastic @sprocketflup (Dave) playing with his wonderful Kate Bush tribute show 'Cloudbusting' again, but this time with an Orchestra, at the massive Basingstoke Anvil Theatre! 😎 Such a wonderful performance, with the orchestra and arrangements bringing out the depths.... and the subtleties... of Kate's music like I've never heard before. Dave nailed it on bass, as always, and I was fascinated to hear from him afterwards that a couple of the basses he was using in the show had actually been owned/played extensively by the late Del Palmer 🤯 It always make me happy and proud to see my fellow basschatters involved in such wonderful projects and I can't wait to see these guys again as they never disappoint!
  6. Thanks mate. Just to stop people misusing it for nefarious reasons. Probably not really necessary on an old Musicmaster.

  11. Reissue priced at £40.99, yours (new, sealed) for £25 posted UK. Now £20 OMD’s 1985 album Crush, will be reissued for its 40th anniversary in October. The band’s sixth album features the singles ‘So In Love,’ and ‘Secret’, with the former reaching the top 30 of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. The 2LP vinyl edition features seven unreleased tracks. Both formats include rare photos and comprehensive notes by journalist and author Jason Draper in conversation with Andy McCluskey. The 40th anniversary re-release of Crush has been a wonderful opportunity for us to re-assess the album. 1985 was a period of great intensity with constant touring and time pressure in the studio, but we created a powerful collection of songs and lyrical themes. In hindsight, we made a much better album than we knew at the time. Two hit singles ‘So in Love’ and ‘Secret’ remain live set constants to this day. ANDY MCCLUSKEY

  16. I think if you weren't interested in music in 1979, then you probably won't appreciate just how ground breaking Peter Hook's bass playing was when Unknown Pleasures was released. By the early 80s most bass players who weren't playing fretless or slap were influence by his playing. He may only have one style and be a self-avowed non-musician but he's been massively influential for a whole generation of musicians. Mick Karn was had similar traits - single style, non musician - and is IMO equally influential, but he doesn't get anything like the same stick as Hooky.
  17. I went on tour with a soul band last May, and they made a compilation video of one of the shows. Turned out pretty nicely. It was the only show that tour I used my JMJ Mustang, I played my vintage '73 Mustang on all other shows. But it was great fun. Germany is an amazing country to play!

  20. Simply stunning! One of my dream basses!😍
  21. Im about to move into a new flat and basically need everything 🤣 so a few odds and ends will find their way up for sale. This is a fantastic pedal, a licensed version of the vaunted Bugbrand bugcrusher which is very expensive. Its a sample rate reducer with clean blend and one of the most musical ive ever tried. It took me ages to find one used, but i lterally use it on two tunes with a band that rarely gigs, so up it goes. Its in fantastic condition with a lovely sparkly silver finish, its got velcro on the bottom, no box unfortunately. £95 incl UK only delivery
  22. Fantastic Chorus/Flanger so effectively two pedals in one. Fully Analog utilising bucket brigade technology for warm vintage Chorus tones. Also feature a 2 band EQ so you can go from warm lush to shimmering modern sounds. It also has a switchable crossover so the effect can be applied only to the high frequencies (like the old Boss Bass chorus) leaving the bottom end nice and clean (a subtle but lovely sound) or a full range chorus sound for extra thickness. A button activates the Flanger mode which is my favourite, totally gives you that wide spacey Anthony Jackson tone. Definately a favourite pedal, but I do use Phaser a lot more. It's also a very cool Aqua colour, what's not to love. Its in reasonable condition, with a few chips in the finish, Im not sure if i have the original box,but will be very well packed. £95 incl Uk only delivery

  23. Raising cash so up for sale is IMHO one of the finest tracking octavers available for bass (and i cant bring muself to sell my OC2) It has two distinct octave voices a Growl which replicates the toothy synth tone of an OC2 and a Girth which is smooth and deep like an EBS octabass/octamizer. You can get subtle variations from mixing the two. It also has a switchable mid boost/cut on the clean tone which can be adjusted internally, very handy. Usual small MXR enclosure with fantastic build quality. Its in great condition and a beautiful deep blue sparkle. No box, but will be well packed. This does Not have the noise issues associayed with the early versions) (Note- the A sticker will be removed and cleaned, ive a two channel setup and kept mixing them up 🤣) £80 incl UK only delivery
