The gig economy unfortunately not known for its pension provision. I worked offshore with someone who was a bass guitarist in a sixties band which charted a couple of times he left to pursue a career in the Oil business, reached a fairly senior position. He didn't like talking about it. -
Thank you. Yes, the bridge pickup is so close to the bridge it makes wild mid range sounds, and without a preamp. I like that. No battery. Here's the plan. I've ordered a 'Custom Series - Crafted in America' headstock label from the web to replace the old 'Made in China' sticker. It will validate the inlays, and increase the instruments value to around £9,500.00. Cunning eh?

That is exactly how I read it, and was imagining a coffee shop with everyone with the red flower pot hats. It was better in my mind than the pictures Roast it, roast it good! -
That's crazy inflation 😁

Not only do I prefer to play fretless, I actually find it easier. Its more natural and intuitive. Having played fretless exclusively for the last 10 years or so, going back to playing fretted feels really restricted and constrained.
-
Three months ago, all I owned was 4 fretless basses and had no intention of buying a fretted bass. However, an artist saw me play (fretless) at a gig in April and asked if I would like to play bass for them. It required a fretted bass so I had to pick one up. This led to playing a big festival gig so I picked up a backup fretted last month.

Graceland is on my album gig list, the problem at present is that our singer/guitarist isn't a fan. I'm working on it 👍

I think I've mentioned before we have this coffee shop in my village: https://www.deveroast.com/about although Pete prefers to talk about coffee more than music! I also suspect he's still getting a lot of royalties as the coffee shop is suspiciously high end....
