  1. Past hour
  2. I remember that transition well - explaining to the bassist another band that I was really pleased with my purchase, but still getting used to the 12th fret not being where my muscle memory expected it to be! Congrats on a gorgeous new bass, I hope it continues to please at your next rehearsal.
  3. Well, at least, not Danish. It’s a kind of relief.
  4. Seymour Duncan '69 style stratocaster for sale. These were made by ESP luthiers behind brands like Navigator and are very rare. I have never seen another '69 model like this. Alder body, maple cap neck, large headstock, Seymour Duncan SSL2 pickups and weighs 3.4kg. It sounds great, like a classic Stratocaster should
  5. Not on fretless, but with the very difficult task to succeed Anthony Jackson with Hiromi and he's very good at it, too bad the end of the video is quite abrupt.
  6. Saturday night was another dep gig. The Bonnevilles were the first band to play at The Beehive in Curdworth since the new manager came in about four months ago, sorted out by the new drummer. We got a spacious raised area to set up in, which was nice. And I got a couple of songs properly sorted that I'd had slight trouble with (not car crash type trouble, just stumbles). The newly acquired Zoom MS-60B+ made its first appearance. Sei Flamboyant 5 -> Lekato WS-90 -> Zoom MS-60B+ -> Tecamp Puma 900 -> GR Bass AT212. As always, Caravelle memory foam trainers.
  7. To be fair to Pirate, they are always quick to refund. If the room's not up to standard e.g. one of the channels on the mixer isn't working they'll give you 20% off and if something happens that means that you can't use the room - no power for example - and they can't shift you to another one you get a refund right away. What's frustrating is that it can take a lot of effort to organise a rehearsal and a few of you have traipsed to the venue so the money isn't the issue. But then, that's why they are cheaper than places that have someone on reception and a tech setting up the rooms and charge extra for backline. As much as I love DMC in Deptford they're often booked out and they are pricier than Pirate.
  8. This was new to me, and I decided to open this thread about any add ons that could be helpful when tweaking with pedals or pedalboards. https://knobyfier.com/ Yesterday I tried to find Stompshields from T-shop, but no more in their selection. http://stompshield.com/
  9. That`s a good point Simon, with my old band who I`m temping for at the moment we always organise gear-share so each band bring one bit of kit, as you say without it you can end up with a mountain of gear and with nowhere to store it. For me though, and as I say I like gigging with just a Sansamp or equivalent, I just keep coming back to the the thought that some bands may not be used to this, and their performance may suffer due to it.
  10. I agree it does look great I am thinking if it is 27Kg, I have a couple of eminence neos that would probably save 6Kg in total, bringing it to 21 ish Kg that might work
  11. I have a lovely Fernandes P bass for sale. It's from the revival series, which were top of the line at the time, and just has that classic growly P bass tone, sounds very vintage and vibey. It's stock, spriral bridge, P bass pickup, big tuners and a 40mm nut width. Weight is right at 4kg and all around very nice bass. It's got rotosound strings on it, which are not too old, but I do have several sets for sale as well if you're interested. £30 each set, I have nickel d'addario's, rotosound steel and GHS Bass Boomers ferandes3,jpg
  12. A breach of the peace is just that and it doesn't take into account who had first dibbs so to speak, which is galling when a venue has been in place for years and then the new build next door has the power to shut it down....AFAIC the law needs changing.
  13. I recall reading that and I never weighed mine but I would say nearer to 27kg ( I think shipped weight it’s probably 30kg ) I could carry it a sensible distance from car to pub but I’m a big strong guy so it wasn’t too bad. A trolley / dolly works too if weight is an issue The voicing of the cab is what matches well with the V4B Not the most efficient cab but god does it look great and sound lovely as a rig.
  14. Are you aware that you have two large photos in your signature?
  15. Listen to this excellent cover:
  16. Origin Cali 76 £190 posted Jam Pedals Red Muck £170 posted Strymon Deco V2 £250 posted Boss Fuzz FZ-1w £120 posted Having a clear out, would consider some sort of trade for a Tonehammer pedal Thanks Dave
  17. I've read a review of the cab and it says it isn't as heavy as Ampeg quote. The review says it weighs 60.8 pounds 27.6Kg Ampeg say 66 pounds 30Kg Can anyone confirm this please?
  18. I do wonder whether the request by the sound guy that kicked off this side-track may have been more a practical one in the sense that perhaps there wasn't room on the stage for three bass players to bring their amps, so it was just a plea to bring your own preamp/DI or he was offering to provide a Sansamp (which is a damn site better than some of teh £20 Behringer DIs that I often get offered)!
  19. Ashdown "Classic Tube Magnifier" CTM-100 with Roqsolid cover. Built in 2013 (I believe), I bought this from BC's very own MertonR around 2014/15 and it became my main gigging amp for a few years. But I recently realised it hasn't seen any serious use since 2019, so it's probably time for me to part with it. Fortunately it's still in excellent condition, and sounds glorious. Collection from KT1 - or, if you're not too far from Kingston upon Thames, I might be able to deliver it for you. Looking for £1000, but open to offers.
  20. The lack of effort that's gone into this ad is mind blowing
  21. Exactly, and unless tehre are regulations to establish a (dare I say it?) reasonable level of insulation, they'll continue doing so.
  22. Yeah as I said previously, a poorly mixed FoH is a completely separate problem. In addition to that having amps on stage might contribute to other issues like bleeding into mics etc, especially on smaller stages. That used to be an issue for me until I started using tilt back bass cabs, then a wedge monitor and finally IEMs.
  23. Not just helping him, helping potential buyers Steve
  24. Used itrack dock with power supply unit. Lightning connector. Great devices these, easy to use and usual focusrite quality preamp. The rubber surround of these units get sticky over time, I’ve had 3 and they’ve all done this. It doesn’t affect performance of course. iPad not included, just for demonstration purposes. £40 posted The iTrack Dock Studio couldn't be easier to use. 25. 100% with Steve, any seller who needs to have a ‘private’ chat about a bass is a seller I’m not buying from and who to my mind is not behaving in line with the spirit of this forum
  26. Alto Truesonic TS110A active PA speaker - built-in power stage, so no need for a separate amplifier! Just plug in your mixer, decks, or even run your mics in directly. 10" speaker with HF tweeter. 600W peak / 300W RMS. Lightweight Class D power stage for portability; wedge-shaped cabinet means this can be used as a PA speaker or angled floor monitor. Collection preferred; if you're not far from Kingston-upon-Thames, I may be able to drop it off for you.
