  1. Past hour
  2. Steve Rodby's complete bass part for the tune 'Every Summer Night' from the 1989 Pat Metheny Group album, 'Letter From Home'. A nice chart evidencing Rodby's profound musicality. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/every-summer-night-pat-metheny-group/
  3. One of the coolest bands on BC and i haven't even heard them. 😂 Would love to see these guys even tho i'm not a Goth type person. The various instruments used would make it so entertaining IMO. Dave
  4. Yep they do have a fantastic image between them. Works really well. I'm not a Goth person by any means but would love to see these guys play. Dave
  5. I also mentioned elsewhere - Amazon are currently selling Ibanez TMB100s in yellow for £128. I'm not sure how much cheaper than normal that is, but it looks like it's very cheap for what it is.
  6. And some tuners, again please ask any question in the thread Some curiously modified 70's Fender fit, came on a '72 Jazz, a bit stiff and clearly abused, but do the job and have a 50-year old feel 👍 Retrovibe Ultralite £40 with lollipops
  7. Those Shergolds look good. I was tempted by one of their Telstar guitars not too long ago, they're meant to be incredible vfm. I didn't realise they did basses too.
  8. TC Electronic Blacksmith, vanderkley 1x12MNT 4ohm, vanderkley 1x12MNT 8ohm. SKB flight case, genuine vanderkley covers. 2x4mm high current speaker cables/ speakon. Ultimate set up. Running both cabs allows the amp to run into 2.6ohms which will be close to max output power. It is very hefty to say the least. For smaller gigs I go for the 4ohm cab which still provides a seriously powerful sound in a more portable package. Additionally, if you have a second amp that in min 4ohms you can run it at full output into the 4ohm cab. Sadly I have just had a run of gigs cancelled so need to raise some cash. All in very good condition. If you add up the new cost of this kit this is a bargain. Not in a position to haggle on price at current time. Courier is going to be a challenge so really is a pick up only.
  9. I have an idea regarding pickups which does not require breaking out the router. Hardware will be staying chrome (for reasons which will eventually become apparent). But yes, the strings will be going - amusing as they are, I'm a die hard D'addario XL nickel round user. First job will be to change the tuners - I suspect someone in the past has nicked the Gotoh GB7s it would have come with and replaced them with some generic units which aren't great to use - quite a lot of play in them and jarringly clanky play at that. I have the tuners which came off my Epi Les Paul bass which are decent so will reuse them.
  10. Another Barefaced user. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd hand Barefaced cab but not 100% sure i need it having my Mesa SW210/115 cabs. I like the idea of the 212 cab as its a better fit in my car plus the reviews for BF cabs are all excellent. Alex's vids are very interesting too highlighting many things i wasn't aware off with bass cabs. I might send Alex an email about it to see what he comes back with that would suit my needs. He comes across as a really good guy Dave
  11. Here's some PUPs. Please ask in the thread if you need further details of any 👍 Aggie AG 4P-60 £50 EMG Geezer PHZ Ivory plus solderless circuit new/unused £60 EMG Select and preamp board/pots albeit not a complete wired circuit. Project for someone? £20
  12. End Of The Beginning - David Phelps
  13. Nice bass gear. Is that the 6x10 cab and what do you think of it ? Dave
  14. You'll be perfect. Stop worrying about it. "Positive vibes Moriarty" Dave
  15. 2 soap bar pickups? Black hardware? That would be ace. As would changing the strings! 🤮
  16. Absolutely. A speaker the size of your thumb or fingernail is not going to reproduce any low frequencies. I listened to that BF video on my DT770s via a wired internet connection (you lose a lot with wireless) and it sounded fine. Same here. For practical purposes, super deep bass from a stage rig is usually not desirable. It sets the stage and everything on it vibrating, goes down all the mic's as a result and turns the FoH to mud. Attempting to pump out single figure frequencies also wastes a lot of amplifier power. Super deep bass is impressive and pleasing in the showroom, the studio and your hi-fi, but not on stage.
  17. Unusual looking WAL. Has it been modded with control panel. Mine had no scratchplate ? Love the colour tho. Dave
  18. This is the bit which makes me chill about these strings from Amazon versus ones off eBay... No third party involvement - so Amazon take full responsibility if something is wrong. I genuinely believe this decidedly bonkers price is a result of massive buying power. Call me naive if you like.
  19. Gig pressure is a wonderful tool to be used against lazy band members. 😁 Well done. Dave
  20. The Final Countdown - Europe
  21. We did an speaker shootout at one of the bass bashes, they all sounded very similar apart from the MarkBass which was so heavily tuned.
  22. The ones I got were generic chinese junk. The packaging said they were phosphor bronze, but they were actually bronze/brass.
  23. NOW £80 POSTED Mackie 802 VLZ3 mixer Cracking little desk, I've used it for home recording and gigs - sounds great for both. Tons of features, great mic preamps, full working order, complete with PSU (euro plug with adaptor). Selling as I'm just not using it any more. Manual here http://kunstencentrumbelgie.com/overbelgie/802VLZ3_OM.pdf I'm in Manchester over the next couple of weeks - happy to meet at a services or even drop off if you're near the right motorway. Trades - I'm interested in Jamerson's original P Bass or *possibly* a compressor pedal - feel free to offer anything else.
