This one just came across my desktop and I thought I would have a look to see where the head was going. This is the closing head at 4:28 of the tune 'Mr. D.C.' from a live recording by John McLaughlin and The 5th Dimension (2022) https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/adoracion-eddie-palmieri/

The PAR floods are prtty much what i have on my Party Light bar I quite like the multiple single coloured bulbs as they give a sense of movement, and the tri light bundle is pretty much standard for bands. It's interesting that both of us and @Rosie Cseem to have gone for lamps around 20W each. four of those gove a decent amount of light on a small stage without blinding people. I have got a couple of 180W Par lights I bought before I'd really thought things through and they are mad, there's no way you could use them in small venues and the only time i've used them successfully is outdoors. Those Stairville floods look great because of the 45deg spread of light. Proper floods which is what you need when the lights are necessarily close to you. Too many of these lights have too narrow a beam.

A bit of Latin on a sunny Sunday morning, this is the Andy Gonzalex bass part from the tune 'Adoración' from the 1973 album, 'Sentido' from the recently deceased Eddie Palmieri. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/adoracion-eddie-palmieri/

Our drummer wears a hat most gigs but never had any issues. ? Might be better mentioning it to him next time. 👍 Dave

I searched the British Newspaper Archive last night and found a tiny ad for a gig by my old band Two Moon Junction (named after a spicy movie) at the 'Newt and Cucumber', in 1993. The extraordinary thing is a pub putting on three live bands for a Monday Night. Things were different then.

Just get a suitable Allen key and give it successive quarter turns anti clock wise, retuning after each quarter turn I had exactly this problem in my acoustic bass. plenty of videos on the net but if you hold the thickest string at first and last fret and cannot see a small gap between the string and the 9th fret you have too much backbow

Only really an intense dislike of rickenbackers, however the topic says “irrational” and that prejudice is not irrational, so I’m out for a duck -
I preferred the sound of the full GR Bass setup because it was the more neutral (that's their key signature) tone with the upper mids slightly missing in the Glockenklang that was coupled to an Eich amp (which is very similar to GR Bass sound wise). If you like the Glockenklang tone [which was my favourite before discovering GR Bass and now the more than amazing, and hard to find, Hevos (Dutch brand sadly not made anymore) Midget 10 combo], go on, buy it, try it with your PJB head and draw your own conclusions. If it's not to your liking, try a GR Bass Cube AT 112, they are amazing. Or this Hevos Midget 10 cabinet that will certainly be the best choice for you: https://www.public-peace.de/hevos-midget10.html

Some from Oxford: Blackwell's, which used to be a good place to go for sheet music. Later, it became a discount bookshop and then a restaurant. Now it's part of Wadham college. ABC, where I got my first decent bass amp (Trace Eliot BLX130) in 1994. Later a Threshers, then Sainsbury's, now to be demolished. Russell Acott, old location shown here when they had moved out of the centre and the site had been taken over by All Bar One. I never got around to visiting after they moved and it's too late now.

I went to a demo with Willis at a local music shop. He's one of those players that says: "I never practice, I just play XX hours a day" 🙄

Never come across that. I'm a member of two and used to rehearse regularly in a third. Perhsps it's a regional thing.
