    Cabinet Plans

A bit of further update. I got an email back from Ashdown and they arrear to be quite helpful. Rather than email anything they are going to give me a call, hopefully next week. For a company that is not getting anything, revenue wise, from this I'm really impressed. My background is as an electronics engineer before I retired, I stared off in comms and ended up in IT, so I understand that you can't just throw a speaker into any size of box and expect it to perform well. So off to do some research I went. Now I know that "a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing" but I had a go. Assuming that, as many think, these are Eminence Beta 10-B's, or a derivative of them, I checked the enclosure specs for them on the Eminence website, copy attached. Although the enclosure size and that of the BC110T are close, there is a difference in port numbers and size. I hate to ask for help, but can someone comment on these differences. Could I continue to use the port specified in the BC110T or should I go for the ones recommended in the attached. One further point. Initially I am just going to install the driver, and not the horn. My plan is to go step by step and assess performance one change at a time. Thats the engineer in me. Thanks again
  3. OK so I grabbed the Modal on sale or return and it does sound lovely. Fatar keybed is excellent. However some of the peripherals like the usb (type B !) seem a bit shoddy. It's by no means as solid and user friendly as the Hydrasynth. Will report further as I get into it, but the Yamaha MOX FX6 might have been a more sensible punt. Time to resist keyboard G.A.S !! Already got an improvised stereo rig (trace elliot ra300 ha ha) JOdeV
  4. Brand new, literally tried on my bass for about 10 minutes and removed as I prefer my existing strap £30 posted to a UK address
  5. Bought a month or two back on the forum on the back of rave reviews about it being a super effective compressor with other bells and whistles ("The only bass pedal you need" on YouTube etc). However, after a recent splurge on Trace Elliott items I now have both an amp and main preamp that have good 2-band compressors, so I don't need this pedal any more. It's in great condition and comes with box etc. £160 posted UK or will knock a tenner off for collection in SW13 (Barnes). FYI, new price is £210-220 Photo is a bit rubbish but happy to post more. Here's the previous owner's ad with his pics: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/513092-sold-jhs-pulp-n-peel-v4-preamp-di-compressor-and-od/#comment-5490901
  6. Problem is, before they cut and run as the profits dry up, they put all the traditional studios out of business, then all of a sudden there’s no rehearsal spaces, and we’re worse off than the old model where we might have to make a phone call, deal either real people, and pay a little more. This is the case with studios, music shops, venues, you name it. We as musicians need to think about the future of music as we save a few quid and save a few seconds
  7. Selling this Micro Fuzz from Kong. Comes with a blend Knob so no lowend loss. 2 types of fuzz, “bass” side is more of a vintage germanium type, the “treble” side is a trebly fuzz. In as new condition, never mounted on a pedalboard nor gigged. £30 posted within mainland UK.
  8. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.
  9. I bought these for a project that never happened, used but in good condition, £90 £70 including delivery to UK addresses
  10. Reduced as I need to purchase my drream bass....😎

  12. First rule of PR, don’t argue with customers Second rule of PR, defo don’t argue with customers when you’ve already lost the argument Third rule of PR, if you’re stupid enough to break Rules 1 and 2, apologise sharpish Most bands using Pirate will have a bass player, there’s a 70% chance that bass player is a member here. Do the math 👍
  13. He'd only been playing bass for a year when I Want You Back was recorded? Wow!! That's almost given me a complex.I know how I sounded after a year in and it wasn't like that 😄

  15. I think all of the Black Sabbath members have had something of a reinvention in recent times. If the stark reality of the hedonistic exploits of their heyday was laid bare and judged by the morality of the present day, I think they wouldn't be so accepted by the mainstream. I've said this before but it's a bit surreal to me as someone who's been a Sabbath fan since the 1970's to see how they've become part of the establishment and are now (rightly) seen as one of Britain's greatest cultural exports. It was unthinkable forty years ago that Ozzy's eventual death would garner such blanket media coverage and widespread public displays of grief. Sabbath used to be wild, inaccessible and mysterious. I preferred it that way.
  16. So it turns out that buying new keyboards is just as addictive as buying new basses. Who knew? This is a genuinely excellent, light-weight all-rounder of a keyboard, extremely portable, and with four banks of SIXTEEN presets each, making it an ideal gigging unit. I haven't done a factory reset, so these are the settings I used for the presets at the last gig I played with it. Banks A and B are largely populated with presets from the factory (none of which were of any use to me) so my presets are in Bank C and Bank D is IIRC pretty much empty. Strong suits are pianos and brass - especially brass - whilst organs and synths are fine. Weak suit is the strings, which can be tweaked endlessly to get the sound you want but are not as instantly lush as those with - say - Yamaha kit. The carry handle is not just cute - it's really practical, especially at festival-style gigs. On the original padded gigbag, the original power supply plus a photocopied manual. How portable do you want it? This keyboard will even run off batteries with no loss of quality. Gigbag has built-in shoulder straps for gigging by public transport. Basschat is not a great place to sell keyboards (the clue's in the name) so I won't be leaving this here for months. If it hasn't sold within a week or two then off to eBay it will have to go. Trying to gauge prices for pre-owned keyboards is a f***ing nightmare. On eBay I've seen these selling recently for over £400 and I've also seen these selling recently for nearer £200, with no apparent reason for the wide range. Not many at the £200 end, mind. LOL It doesn't help that the Korg Kross II looks pretty much the same (no! really?) and people get confused.
  17. Please welcome our newest Basschat members! PirateMarketing, PirateArtistSupport, and PirateCEO... oh, sorry, don't forget PirateSouthAfricaFireSafetyMonitoringStation (bass players... each and every one) 🤣
  18. Hi Rob, I’ve spoken with Phil many times but we’ve never actually done a deal, last time was his 72P, he’s mainly guitars but does get some decent basses sometimes
  19. Hello Security Person, do your PR people know you’re here? If not, you might want to flag the upcoming drop in revenue? Or are you also the Head of PR (and ‘Artist Support’) 🤔 Quick question. Do you know what the word security means (clue: customers not perishing in fires)?
  20. Built to withstand nuclear attack this flight was will protect and survive. Well toured but locks still works perfectly and everything fits together like it should Exterior 60 x 53 x 17 cm Interior (Lids Off) 45 x 48 x 13.5
  21. Please note: I have *not* taken against that cab in general terms. It's good, and powerful, and clear, but it is definitely ideal for a modern rock/hard rock sound. It is completely unsuitable for our 1950s rock 'n' roll band, with whom we play the vast majority of our gigs. I imagine hubby has got fed up with me stopping him loading the Trace in the car when we gig with Damo And The Dynamites, which is currently, well, all the time.
  22. Chris, if I didn't already have a Ui-24 plus a Ui-12 arriving tomorrow morning then I'd have this off you in a flash. I could almost be persuaded that I should do a deal for it anyway so that @Silvia Bluejay and I have a spare for our frontline (>80 gigs a year) mixer. How interesting would a bass need to be to get your attention?
  23. Today
  24. I was in contact with the owner of this bass a few months back but lost touch with him, he sold it for a lot less than this asking price and yes he said it was extremely light, my missed oportunity...
