  1. Past hour
  2. That, for me, is the difference 👍
  3. Lost In Paradise - Evanescence
  4. Fair enough. I’d assumed UK given that the majority of folks on here are from there.
  5. I think it’s also a different feel playing through a tube / valve amp
  6. Going Nowhere - Oasis
  7. Lovely looking bass, cue the fender hating mob…..
  8. If you get the Tobias I hope you will like it better than this 😉 (looks am.....! 🔥
  9. Hi guys. Looking to trade my original (I believe 1989) Bartolini Tobias split pickups for same era dual coil pickups. I know some folks preferred the sound of the splits as they have a little more of that J bass vibe to them. I prefer the duals for what I’m after so if anyone has a pair and willing to trade, I’d be very interested. No sales, I’m strictly looking for a trade only. They are in a good shape considering the age, and work and sound exactly as they should. Again not looking for Gibson era pickups, have tried most of these and they’re not my jam. Thanks!
  10. Bump for added sale option. Would consider trades for Fender P / PJ 5 string or Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5.
  11. No, that’s the thing i didn’t know i had to have.
  12. I can confidently say that I don’t think you would be disappointed Lozz.
  13. This world of depping is new to me and I'm enjoying the entree Those that dep, please share your tips and experiences! Anyone with other questions please chime in. What works for you, when need to perform large setlists (most which you didn't know before)? How much notice do you usually get (e.g. availability check, confirmation)? Do you have any principles for fee (e.g. same as the bassist you're replacing or regular band member, cash, delayed transfer)? Any good habits that help you get on with your bandmates and perform better as a dep? Do you read when performing (sheet, tablet - notation, tab, chord charts) if some of the band does? Any generic practice or preparation that is particular useful for depping bassists? Clothing: anything you have had to wear in particular, that has got used ? # Background So after many stops and starts playing bass over the years with a few startup originals and covers bands, with extra time on my hands to practice and play more, I've found myself getting into depping (been asked twice by the same band leader for 2 different bands: a large soul band and a rock band: all popular covers for pubs &functions). It was a bit daunting to be asked at very short notice - it was 30 hours before the gig - though they'd asked whether I'd generally be interested a couple of months before, but no commitment or gig in place. 30+ soul and funk songs, 23 or so, that I'd never learnt before. It was sketchy for a number of reasons on the 1st gig, but the one the next evening went better. I've more notice on this next one - a full week, yay! - and it's 30+ rock songs of which I'm working through now. 2nd dep gig, a couple of weeks ago... VID20250824205002.mp4
  14. Oh my, I think the bass gods are really toying with me; I was looking out for a Tune 5-string a while back (I have the TWB-6 and a couple of the later Korean models). Sadly, funds won't currently allow me to go for it but I can certainly vouch for the quality of these basses. Absolutely! GLWTS. 👍😎👍
  15. Right up my street but no trades is the dealbreaker! GLWTS man and have a bump!
  16. These are going ‘bayward tomorrow so hit me up with offers today if you have any? 🤞
  17. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ So my SR1206 is just a SR306. But i still want an ATK800 or 810 lol
  18. Someone recently gave me their band 'card' which was also a sticker with a name/logo and a QR code. It looks good enough that it is stuck on my amp case giving some advertising and a more permanent reminder than a card sat in a draw.
  19. Thanks for the insights @Killerfridge @Risk101 !
  20. Great video! Not a surprise about the results but what an excellent way to demonstrate it all.
  21. I can lend you a butter knife and you could go at it like Jaco, if you like.
  22. I had a pupil some years ago who had a natural ATK. It was indeed very Stingray-alike in sound. I think we got it for about £399 as well. An utter bargain. There is however, another Stingray Killer that people forget about - the now also discontinued Fender Dimension, in particular the HH model, which was a monster of a bass. I still miss mine, which I had to sacrifice when I bought my KingBass Mk-II.
  23. For quite a while it was in person but then flipped to Zoom during Covid and then continued that way. Ian is a super busy guy as you can imagine so I think online is probably the only way - you should reach out to him and see. As @Killerfridge said, he's well set up for online and has a great technique for that 👍🏻👍🏻
  24. I Get Around - Beach Boys

  26. I know what you mean. Changing to the 40-95 + 125 gauge Elixir set seems to have somewhat cured that. The G does seem VERY close to the edge, which is beautifully rolled, of course. I found the same on a 2nd Generation Sire V7. They sometimes roll the edges a little too much and the G can slip off the board if you're not careful.
