  2. Major Brain fart! I looked closely at that one performance (see my last pic with me onstage) back in and around 2015 and took notice that my Barcus did NOT have the dark fret markers on the neck. I ordered the bass sans fret markers and later had my friend (who works on guitars) add those fret dots for me since he if good at lining them up appropriately. I have had so many basses over the years, but this Barcus was kept in my closet and only rarely played it at home. I had 12 string, 8 string, 5 string basses, and sold them all eventually and just stayed with a few 4 string basses. Sorry for the confusion on those fret dots. I completely forgot my bass originally came without fretboard markers. I will update my for sale post wording. Thx much for taking note off that and bringing it up, brother. 👍
  3. ... it still sounded like Chris Squire.
  4. I ran my fingernail gently on my fretboard and the fretboard dots feel ever so slightly raised and not actual inlays routed into the fretboard. I rarely played this 5 string. I am assuming he added the dots after finishing my bass with a slight finish coat over them to keep them from coming off or wearing down. I am still awaiting Barcus’ reply on Facebook. I think the bass actually looked better without those dots as seen in his pics. If they are surface mounted fret dots, then they can be carefully removed if the new owner chooses to do so. Stay tuned for Barcus’ reply……..
  5. So is your GX10 pitch shift s good as the XS-1 (and 100)?
  6. And in answer to my own question, have managed to get some decently usable pitch shift patches on my GX10 ( and making me ponder whether to hold onto my dedicated Boss pitch shift pedals - OC5, XS-1 and XS-100?)
  7. I was tempted to get an Elf to use as a spare amp assuming from memory they sound similar to each other ? I wish I hadn’t sold mine and although I don’t need 1200w what I do need is the remarkable sound they make. The extra watts are a bonus really
  8. I've taken the liberty of widening this thread to GX10 users given the similarity of the patches and Boss editing software.
  9. Our carol gig last Friday - this is our biggest of the year, with maybe 120-130 people. That's me in the top hat. Sorry, I'm not playing bass, but that was covered admirably my friend and former bass teacher. It went very well, everyone is keen to have us back next year which may be tricky, but not impossible!
  10. I will ask Greg Barcus about the fretboard dot markers to double check how he did them.
  11. Cool little phaser pedal from the JHS budget line, was on my board for the last 8 months or so but I just prefer the more simple Phase 90 for my use, the less knobs the less chance of me fiddling during gigs! It can pull off the Phase 90 vibe and also do much more extreme sounds with the feedback knob switched on. Pretty much as new except having Velcro on the bottom, with the original box and bits and pieces. Price includes UK postage, will knock £5 off for local collection

  13. Please could someone explain this from the Overlord website about the Fujin bass? Japanese wind god, a terrifying magical demon who carries a large bag of winds on his shoulders. Often pictured alongside Raijin, and like him, our second headless bass model features a classic double-cut design. What's the double-cut design got to do with Raijin? I've lost the plot.
  14. Actually was a local ska band touring these parts (the US).
  15. Today
  16. Yeah I did. Tried every conceivable configuration!
  17. Yes. It all worked fine as soon as I tried it at home after the gig. I just want to have a fail safe - I can take the laptop it's fine, but I wanted to see if the tablet could be connected. Purely for convenience.
  18. Still love mine though don’t have enough big gigs to really let it loose. There is a part of me that thinks either that or my Handbox WB100 should go to a new home because I really don’t need both, and an Elf. Then I slap myself round the face and pull myself together .🤣
  19. I’ve looked at all of my gear to see if there’s anything I can sell to get to £1700. alas. No.
  20. On selling tickets, seems I missed out on a banger of a gig by my brother's covers band & support on Friday. 110 capacity, the sold 100 tickets at £8 in advance and kept back 10 for the night. They worried about struggling to sell them.
  21. This is all fascinating.
  22. @dmccombe7 Your Xmas gigs sound ace. I've never manged to get those sort of festive gigs in my bands, lots of other great ones for sure, but you can't beat a great party gig this time of year.
  23. Does anyone have experience with Toltec pickups? Managed to snag a set of Vintage Reds but very difficult to find info or soundclips on the web. Cheers.
