  2. The new price of my Fender Precision in 1969 was £120. That's nearly £1700 today. Within 3 years I'd replaced the nut (broken) and frets (worn down). I'm not sure prices are that bad these days. My guess is you get a better made bass, at all price points, these days than I did.
  3. Auction is here chaps! Still time to bid Be interesting to see what it goes for with 2 days left. https://sherwoodphoenix.co.uk/auctions/#!/auctions/0e1d7caa-0260-4034-ba84-60303c0d9202/listings/035b5d74-65bd-4854-b288-754a618b3655?ic=90
  4. One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head
  5. Ive bene using a set of Lekato WS90’s for a while now. single is clear and ive never had any dropouts. A week or so ago i brought an Ampeg SGT-DI. I noticed that when the preamp was not engaged, but the IR was on, i was getting a lot of horrible noise. This was when using the WS90. My Xvive and cables were fine with it. I send it back. This week i got a EBS Microbass 3, and although i have no issues with it, i get a loud hum if i put my hand near, or worse, on, the WS90 when its off but plugged in to the EBS. When the WS90 is on it’s fine. It’s like when you have a cable thats not attached to anything at the other end. Cant figure out why this happens when it’s off and im close to it. Poor shielding is the only thing that comes to mind.
  6. Agreed. Quantitive Easing has a lot to answer for.
  7. Good point, well made. No Ali Express for me, especially when the real thing is available - and I can try before I buy.
  8. I'm very happy to take sensible offers on this as I'm looking to fully insulate/soundproof a cabin once this has gone, and over and above needing the unit out of the way (it's pretty big), I kinda need the proceeds from selling the booth it to pay for the cabin materials
  9. There's some great software available for these units also for example https://www.singularsound.com/products/groove-monkee
  10. Krivo still available 👍
  11. How about £600 each or £1000 for the pair, I've better things I could be using the cash for at present 👍
  12. Pics of the SKB case Handle/wheels Laptop/tablet sits in the top section, mixer sits in the rack space below. A bit old and shabby but a nice way of moving this unit around 👍 Previous owner installed a DIY cable router
  13. They have only doubled in price if you are paying in paper currency that has experienced the effects of “printing” When priced in gold, bitcoin or even a currency like the Swiss Franc then the issue goes away.
  14. A Passage to Bangkok - Rush
  15. Not sure what you mean by 'North' but my mates in alternative originals bands can't always count on pa support up here, it's a world away from swanky covers in posh wedding venues. If you know what you're getting in to then fine. If not I wonder if it's worth having a nice rig (say a darkglass head and 2*10 cab or whatever) and then picking up an old 810 or something for super cheap for the gigs where you have to loosen fillings on your own. If you're sure you can get away with stage volume then don't sleep on the modelling combos. The Fender Stage, the Boss Katana and even the Blackstar stuff can all do proper grindy, compressed rock tones for little money and even less weight.
  16. Puff the magic Drag-on - Peter Paul and Mary
  17. Regarding the above inflation increases in prices, you only have to look at the expected standards of living in the country of origin. Americans are used to big houses, relatively reasonably priced domestic cars and [used to] enjoy healthy pensions, hence Fenders are fairly expensive for a mass produced instrument. Now look at the Germans - Warwicks have become absolutely eye-wateringly expensive. Obviously the Germans like some serious financial security and still aspire to owning a Mercedes-Benz. Companies that mass produce high value branded items, be it cars or basses, have cottoned onto the fact that they can make more money by selling lower volumes if they push their products up-market. But to switch to basses specifically, the Fender American Standard/Professional series has always seemed 'just out of reach'. When I was starting out in the late 80's/early 90's, that £7-800 Fender on the wall was the stuff of hushed legend amongst my musical peers. By the mid-late 2000s they were still relatively good value at just under £1000. Now in 2025 it's heading towards £2k. Why? Because everything has doubled in price. Try looking at Music Man prices! 🫣
  18. The Queen is Dead - The Smiths
  19. I’m going to put the Evan’s on my other bass tonight I think, so the price will be £950. This is a 100% Basschat Bargain. I’ll also add it to eBay, too, for a little more. Collection only in Bristol, etc.
  20. God Save The Queen - Sex Pistols
  21. Although he is playing it at the bridge.
  22. If you listen carefully… he’s playing the funk machine on Let’s Get It On. Jamerson was present at that session but Felder’s take was used over Jamerson for that track.
