Richard R replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Events
Sadly I am out for this one. It's Rememberance Sunday. I'm in the band for the church service and we're playing one of my songs to close. Hope the venue survives the LF onslaught! -

We're gonna need a bigger venue reinforced floor! -
Love that bass of yours. Dave

The wenge neck has arrived. I already rolled the fretboard edges and sanded the back of the neck. The frets have been levelled and dressed. It is going to have a cream pickguard, chrome USA Hipshot Ultralites (courtesy of Lozz selling some on here) , chrome GOTOH bridge, Schaller strap lock buttons, Tone Emporium TE18 pickups and Bloodstone Guitar Works P bass electronics with .047uF cap. It will be strung with D’adaddario .45 - .105 EXL If you fancy buying this bass, get in touch, it is going to be around £700-750 mark

Someone asked me on the thread below about seeing some of the Trace Elliot cabs I've been collecting and fixing. I'd be happy to see how much I can squeeze in the car, although if there are thoughts of a cab comparisons I could probably bring a 1x15, 1x18, 2x10 and 4x10, and maybe also the classic 2x10 + 2x5 cab favoured by Mark King, albeit space may prevent this!

For sale is the Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 which has the AUX input as well. Great sounding pedal with amazing ability to sculp both the tone on the preamp side and the distortion on the drive side of the pedal. There is some very impressive sounds that can be had out of this pedal. The pedal comes with the original box and all the goodies that came with it. I bought this pedal 3-4 years ago but the sound is a bit too much for the bands I am in. I was always hoping to use it but it has literally sat in the box the whole time. I had thought I might use it also as an emergency DI for gigs but I have never needed it. I would be really interested in trades for Iron Polytope because the funds coming from this will go towards this pedal. Possible option would be OE DCX. If I was playing heavier music this pedal would absolutly be staying. £270, £260 including postage. Bank transfer or PayPal F&F.

Evening all, following Casapete's suggestion I contacted Jono at the music Locker, he's made me what I think is a fair offer (considering it's probably an 8 hour round trip for him!). Thanks for all your advice . Be Good

Yes I have a few 18" things lying around including the 1818x cab on the first page of this thread that I got for £20. These coming up every now and again, although TE cabs with 15" speakers are far more common. Annoyingly I've just seen the following listing and was in Littlehampton earlier today (although I think it is 2x15"). I'm planning to bring five or six cabs along to the SE Bass bash on the 9th November if you want a look (and would probably happily part with any of them for £50 or so as I have quite a few at the moment!). -

I like living in the central belt of Scotland, and I feel there's everything I need here. But, when I'm in the classifieds or when an offer like this crops up, I realise the UK is a big place! -

You are welcome. You have a good feedback history so I wasn't stepping outside of my comfort zone at all. If you are ever in the vicinity you are welcome to PM me then. -
This one arrived today, wenge, was ordered on eBay on 29th August. It is very good. Ignore the slight imperfections on the fretboard, that was me experimenting with adding some light wear patina to it and now I am trying to get rid of it. Until I start making my own, I get all my necks from China for my builds

nope but the Wee DI looks like something I'd use

Good one! A doff of my hat to you sir. (You can collect your redundancy payment on your way out... heeheehee)

Are you within easy travelling distance of Spondon, Derby? If so PM me to set up a trial. -
I also think that making the rotten part obviously obvious (voluntary redundancy) is the thing to do...

After reading the available material through, I am amazed that the material is downloaded only in so small numbers. Good text, lots of exercises to anyone playing bass.

Saturday night was a trip to London to play the legendary What's Cookin', for my friend Rich Davies and his band The Dissidents. I've been part of the band since 2016 and we have kept the same lineup throughout. They are all insanely good players and I like the fact that this keeps me on my toes. We had one rehearsal and I spent the week going through the set at home as we don't play live often and Rich had changed some keys of songs. I'd initally thought of bringing my Rickenbacker but midweek decided to change to my long scale Hofner Verythin bass. Rich wanted me to bring my Blackstar rig but I hate London load ins so when I found out there was a house rig, I was happy to use that. Having travelled up with the keyboard player, we arrived in good time, only to find out our drummer was not so fortunate. We wound up sound checking without him whilst a kit sharing support band quietly twitched! Thankfully he arrived and we got all set up. The nice thing was I had a bunch of old mates show up, including a singer I worked with for 10yrs, a roadie from a previous band and the guy who does the videos in my main band. We went on and just killed it. Due to the tube strike, the venue was quieter than usual but respectably half full and all eyes were on the band. Props to the support act who danced at the back throughout our set. The downside was that an accident on the M25 meant I got in at 3.15am but it was a superb evening.

Elfrasho replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
I think I've played through one 18" in my life, and I remember it being absolutely incredible. It was probably a mix of the stage, cab, amp and my bass, but the onstage sound was almost perfect. I can't remember the exact amp but i think it might have been an old solid state Marshall. Since then, i was looking for a cheap 18" cab until the past 5 years, until i got an old 15" combo. Kinda does the same job but i think i'd really like to experiment! -
To be honest, I can't remember... It was 7 years ago, and I've slept since then
