  2. Decided to put up my awesome (and unfortunately no longer made) Spector LT5 in Violet Fade for sale. This has been my main touring bass for the last two years and has seen some action at Glastonbury, Green Man and many more festivals that I can't even remember! Despite being my main bass I have really looked after the bass and it's in excellent condition. No dings or dents just light surface scratches that every guitar gets from being played! The bass has a 3 piece maple neck with alder body wings and a very nice flamed maple top, which is almost holographic and almost impossible to photo! 😂 The bass has a very nice ebony fingerboard, MOP Spector crown inlays, Gotoh lightweight tuners, brass nut, Dunlop straplocks, Custom wound to Spector spec Bartolini pickups and Darkglass preamp, and thr finish is so good it's ridiculously reflective and shiny.. again making it difficult to take good photos! The bass plays very nicely and sounds phenomenal. The bass is 35" scale and the low B is the best I've experienced on a high end bass. Currently strung with Dunlop Super Bright Steels. Sale includes the Spector gig bag. Looking for £1800 due to excellent condition and I think collection is needed. I have the boxes it came in but I don't feel comfortable shipping it without a hardcase.

  3. I bought one last year. It very well built and did exactly what you would expect from a high / low pass filter. Highly recommended.
  4. Hi Woody I used it to beef up the harmonies for a trio with only me singing lead and fairly weak BV’s from the guitarist, worked well for that. That projects now long gone, so this is surplus to requirements, I haven’t replaced it with an alternative. Cheers Steve
  5. This is my MIK Spector Q4 pro, it’s in pretty much spotless condition, there are no marks I am aware of on this bass. I bought it from BassBros a while back and love it, however I have just purchased another (sadly, more expensive Spector ) so this has to go. It’s set up lovely, sounds just like a Spector should, it has the EMGHZ twin soap bar pickups and the EMG BTS circuit and this model has a non curved body. It’s a lovely bass. I do have packaging or collection or meet within 1hr drive of Milton Keynes. Any questions, just ask. Cheers Steve

  6. Hi Terry I’ve not had any issues in that respect, I know the original owner had an issue he didn’t like with the original preamp and so changed it to a Glockenlang which is still in it.
  7. Well, mine is beautiful. No gaps.
  8. Really glad that it’s not the bass after all, I was already stumped with what to replace it with while I was in Basil mode…
  9. Up for sale is this classic comp. In great working order with a few obligatory chips.

  10. Yep, classic Fawlty with a mix of classic Homer afterwards, a nice big doh!
  11. Yes I have owned extremes one at nearly 5kgs one at under 3.5. I regret getting rid of my red Sterling last year when I went in for surgery. Sold to buy a EBMM short scale I later moved on - to you perhaps?
  12. MXR M85 bass distortion. Great distortion pedal in good condition. Velcro on the bottom. £90 delivered. Any questions just ask 👍
  13. Anyone have experience of the rosewood Chinese necks with pearl block inlays? Just wondering how well done they are and whether the ones with dots might be a safer bet.
  14. There is some very boutique bonkers-ness going on in this thread now. Time for a reset?
  15. I’ve had several but realise I’m happier with long scale now that my fretting hand is healed.
  16. I've listened to some ABing with the original boss pedals, and it sounds good in comparison to the originals. If you absolutely need certain boss sounds, particularly if it certain sounds that you maybe use sparingly so that you can condense you pedal board, then its great. If you just need a generic phaser and tremolo for example, then im pretty sure a HX one or even one of the Zoom equivalents would do a similiar job.
  17. I'm looking for some advice on how to re-finish an area of a jazz neck I have. It came to me with a crack apparently professionally repaired. The crack has got a little worse, so I glued and clamped. After sanding back smooth the wood is a bit grey-pink when dry. When wet it's dark. Can it be stained to get closer to the original colour? I'll probably ending up replacing the neck but for now I just want to get it back together to test it out. Dry Wet
  18. Well you’re welcome to come and try
  19. I used a pair of Big Baby cabs for about 10 years gigging almost every weekend. Never thought I would find anything better/more suited to me and they would be forever cabs. They're bloody good. But I retired from regular gigging last year. Sold them both with the intention of downsizing everything. Bought a GR212 but it wasn't the right cab for me sonically. Ended up with a Monaco and although I've only done a couple of rehearsals and a festival gig with it I think it's better than the BF cabs. It's more controlled at home levels and definitely fills a bigger room better. It's almost like the volume is more consistent wherever you stand whereas the BF cabs threw a long way but if you were stuck right in front of them (just using a single cab) then you could get a bit lost. They were still better than most regular cabs but I think the LFSys improves in it significantly. And they feel a bit tougher too.
  20. I got this from Bass Direct at the back end of last year mainly as a nice portable little to stick with a 10 inch speaker and make a restrained amount of noise with a mate in Mexico (a daft 110v country) knowing I would be moving back to 220/240 and not wanting to buy something I could only use for a short time. It did that job very well, but it also picked up a couple of small scratches because the noise making was partially an excuse to have a couple of beers and the carry bag is nice and convenient to fit in a gig bag front pocket but not padded so it doesn't stop your keys or the end of a jack plug scraping through. Shown in the pics and very much just cosmetic. Also works nicely as a basic home practice amp that can get loud enough to wake next door but one if you happen not to like your neighbours. And the aux in means you can play along to your favourites from the hit parade via one of those new digital music players or even a computer! Wild, wild stuff 😎 It's Phil Jones so it's a lovely clean sound. Passive / active switch also makes an appreciable difference when you remember to use it. I rather like the look of it as well. Brushed aluminium, ergonomic nobs, blueness. All good things in my book. I wouldn't be unhappy if this doesn't sell but I also have other things that do this and more, albeit not with the same sweet sound, and I am trying to cobble together some cash as something has caught my eye.... Can post, would probably be around a tenner.....
  21. Nice! A fantastic bass for a great price!
  22. Yep. I ended up buying an old Trace Elliot combo instead fot that particular project. If i ever need an amp for something more than the odd gig, I might very well do pick one of these up!
  23. They're still easily available for £230
  24. Keep a look out on eBay or Facebook marketplace locally. Be open to anything and if it’s local go and test it out before you buy.
