Just found a deadspot on my Dingwall. I am annoyed.
Musicman666 replied to kwmlondon's topic in Bass Guitars
everyone wonders why pay more for a boutique bass? ...well some wooden necks play the same all over but to get that on the cheap is more luck than anything else...however i have a fender custom shop with a horrendous dead spot but fixed with a headstock weight...where the dead-spot went? ...i have no idea. -
Another ask stereo send and returns on trs jack outputs so you can have two stereo effects loops (cos why not) Give the core Four output jacks (make enough space by moving the ctrl jack to the side and making it a mini jack and make the input jack trs for stereo ins) make two dedicated sub outs each with TRS for balanced output and keep the current main outs and when headphones are connected automatically a reverse algorithm to mimic a amp in the room type effect.

Hi everyone! I’ve been a professional session bassist for over 20 years and recently moved to Da Nang, Vietnam. I’ve started a YouTube channel to share not just covers, but also high-quality educational resources and gear analysis. I’m a bit of a gear enthusiast, and I love testing how different woods and electronics behave. My current main rotation: • Custom Made Music Man 5 HH: Features a Solid Rosewood Neck for incredible sustain and clarity. • Fender American Elite Jazz Bass: My go-to for that classic punchy growl. • Mavis Jazz Bass: A rare find that sounds surprisingly punchy. Signal Chain: Kemper Player (Avalon U5 profile) directly into an M-Audio Fast Track II. What I’m sharing on my channel: • 🎸 Gear Comparisons: I have a dedicated A/B test video comparing my Fender Elite and the Custom Music Man so you can hear the difference in real-time. • 🎼 Advanced Tutorials: I’ve created detailed lessons with synchronized notation and TABS for complex grooves, including my breakdown of Anton Davidyants & Gergo Borlai slap exercises. Here are a few links to my work: 🎸 Jaco Pastorius - Come On, Come Over 🎸 Level 42 - Love Games (Tone Breakdown & Solo) 🔥 Anton Davidyants - Slap Groove Tutorial (with Tabs & Slow-mo) 🔥 Vulfpeck - Dean Town (Custom Music Man Test) 🔥 Fender Elite vs Music Man HH - Tone Comparison I’d love to hear your thoughts on the tone, the lessons, and the transcriptions! Cheers, Igor

I honestly would rather they spent the time making effects and Amps have the same actual controls as the originals that work the same way. Also I absolutely love the STOMPBOX mode that the Amps and effects blocks can do but I wish it was applied every where. The way I had my gt-1000 setup I wanted to be able to have a STOMPBOX mode for the dividers, the Mastering FX and on the speaker settings. Equally I always rsn out of oresets so maybe double the orders for each one too. Talking of mastering effects I wish they lifted the lid on them more. Also global eq presets with a present loudness/fletcher monsoon curve to make. Casual practice volumes behave the same EQ wise as full band or front of house levels.

What's the going rate for Stingrays nowadays?
Misdee replied to Supernaut's topic in General Discussion
Something I have noticed over the years about peizo-equipped EBMM basses is that they usually tend to be pretty heavy. Somehow the peizo gubbins seems to add a bit of weight. Unless it's just a coincidence. -
I've got a 44-02 fretless and the truss rod has never been a problem, but the 5 string versions have got graphite reinforcement that the Skyline 4 strings don't. It might be that the extra stiffness from the graphite makes the truss rod seem a bit unresponsive, but it probably just needs leaving a bit longer after adjustment to make it's full effect apparent.

You can adjust the relative volume between active and passive on the Lakland LH3 preamp with an internal trimpot.

Thanks all for your advice, have ordered one this evening.

Except part of that conversation was someone mentioning to them the rules of off marketplace selling, including showing the actual rules, so I think it was clear. -

It's a multitrack recorder, using SD cards as storage. 16 tracks total, can record 8 inputs at once, and supports an unlimited number of virtual tracks / alternative takes (well, limited by the space in the card!). Built-in stereo microphones. Wide range of on-board FX. Power supply included, but it can also run on AA batteries. It can also work as an interface to control a DAW on the computer. https://www.zoom.co.jp/node/68/1000

Whilst I know the original post hinted strongly at valuing an individual bass, my reply (which has disappeared) wasn’t - I commented on the piezo on the bass, showed him the EBMM database entry for it, and guided him to look back through the thread for people’s views on the values of Stingrays - I suggested places he could sell it including here….
