Well, I was wearing my Hi-Fi hat rather than as a musician and went there because I did a seach for hi-res Peter Gabriel, rather than because I was on bandcamp. -

Really? I've dipped in and out of this because IMO it's way too boring to watch all 45 minutes in one sitting, but the overall impression I get is that maybe instead of making videos worrying about AI, he should just knuckle down and make some more music of his own. And rather than watch the whole video that's what I'm going to do. -

Yeah, spot on soo far (I'm halfway through it). I recently started an electronic music project with someone and after trying what Sumo could do sort of scuppered our plans - we figured if we're just doing it to make music and not play live then what's the point? Sumo can pretty much do it as well already with the righ prompts. It'd be like learning to make photo-realistic drawings and then the camera being invented. Although I suppose telling Sumo what to make is like being a music producer in the non-technical sense 'add some quiet guitars here'..'make it more upbeat for the chorus' etc. which does have some artistic merit. I had toyed with the idea of being a sound engineer years ago, glad I didn't go down that road. -
Part of the issue, as far as I can see is that the pickup and the bridge attach to both the extended neck heel and the body of the bass. So changing one angle affects the other two. Ho hum.

Almost exclusively now. Mexican Mustang P/J and Squire Jaguar. For acoustic work, a Taylor mini-bass.

Yes, although it is a Bass VI.

2025 SE Bass Basheroonie! Sunday 9/11/25 *CONFIRMED*
Kebabkid replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Events
Hi Peeps, Unfortunately, I'll not be able to attend on Sunday, but have a good one and it's always a great day. Cheers one again to all involved in the organisation and enjoy yourselves, Cos (Kebabkid) -
My blue sparkle Sterling Ray34. Imported from Swee Lee in 2016. Much as I love this I might be selling soon as I have a black Sterling Ray34 with matching headstock, Ibanez jetking and just bought a Sire U5. Somethings got to go and this is just too pristine to limit it to pub gigs so will be someones pride & joy on a stage.

I think I’m more or less done with eBay .Changes keep being made . Most of any basses I would think about purchasing seem to be only available in Japan these days. Sly added fees to buying as well as selling items . Plus of course the new method of selling is in my experience one massive pita! If I was to purchase anything from a seller , I would contact ( or reach out if you’re a member of the four tops) the seller asking what courier service they use . If it’s EVRI the transaction won’t happen ,and I’ll see if a seller would use my choice of delivery instead .( in my case dpd or Royal Mail ) As for selling , the automated eBay way of doing things means if I did sell something again , I’d have to contact the buyer advising them who I am using . I had to do that a few months ago when selling an fx pedal . Thankfully all was good , but trying to find the item posted button was impossible as I never followed eBay recommended way of dispatching the item . i wouldn’t cancel my details , as I have 100% feedback etc and don’t want to start all over again .

I went to see Suzanne Vega on Saturday then Macc Lads on Sunday. Both great gigs.

I do, Pete. I’ve switched over to short-scale basses almost exclusively so it’s not getting played anymore. I’ll send you a pm.

Don't get rid, consider modifying your practice room to something with this.. a simple lift with the right equipment. -
I don't mind a few things to sort, how tricky was the Switchcraft toggle to sort? I can do most electrical, but I ant a dentist.... you know what I mean. Don't like the look of the Starfire.

No you haven't touched a nerve, it's just that IME most people who claim to boycott streaming also appear to have given up listening to anything made after 1976 and in that respect your avatar wasn't doing you any favours. So it's gratifying to hear that you're out supporting new bands. For me (and my band) streaming is essentially advertising that actually pays us, so I have no problem with it. I know that it pays a pittance, but it does pay and we actually get to see the money from it, unlike releasing records and CD in the 80s and 90s where unless you were massively successful the record company ended up with everything. If you really want to cut out "The Man" from benefiting financially from music we'd probably need to go back to the DIY cassette days of the late 70s and early 80s. On the other hand instead of spending the best part of 6 months duplicating cassettes in real time to reach less than 200 people, I can put up a new song on Spotify and reach that number in less than a single day. -
