Yeah about 80/20 neck/bridge does it for me, there’s still the thump but it’s not quite as bulky in the mids as the Precision.

Looks like it could be a MK1 GP11 although I'm not so sure the case is original.. With the first couple of generations of Trace Elliot gear, I believe all woodwork was painted black before the change to the grey 'pimple' type that lasted until the mid / late '90s ie, the early SM and SMX ranges.. Hope you have fun with it..

Interesting @Lozz196 that you have transitioned to a Jazz and your bandmates feel its lower/deeper. That’s exactly the opposite to my experience. I think my bandmates could pick out the notes better rather than feel them, but I like the good old fashioned thump. And if you favour the neck pickup, then perhaps you do too?

I tried out the open mic night at Derby Market Hall. Every last Thursday of the month and this was the second one.The market hall is a magnificent Victorian building, recently reopened after a multi-million pound renovation. Every slot from 6pm until the 10pm shutdown was taken. At its peak, probably about 75 people there. The acoustics aren’t good, but no surprises there.

I will the usage graph of the lifecycle of this amplifier will be a ruler flat line of inactivity til this week from its birth ,….to a sudden exponential curve of use and enjoyment I can asssure you! Through the Di out the GP11 pre sounds very similar through my mixing desk to my old 1008 (8x10 ) combo DI out from 1983. I think it’s wonderful….. Thanks for your lovely comments.

You know, everyone, I absolutely adore reading through this thread. Seeing how everyone goes about gigging in their different ways, with so many different bands and styles on offer; I even enjoy the reports of gig by bands who play genres that I wouldn't play myself, because there's always something to be learned. Seeing what you lot get up to at your gigs is a real highlight of my (usually) weekend, and I wish I was out there gigging again. Thanks very much for sharing your experiences with the rest of us!
