Fantastic sets from Bob Vylan & Nova Twins.

I had a couple of Grind BXPs, a 5 and a 6. I tried a US Cirrus 5 string and decided I preferred the neck on the Grind. I'm sure the original Cirrus was quite a bit cheaper than the reboot version.

Buy a BDDI if you want that tone? None of the other preamps here are trying to be an SVT.

I caught 1 number and liked that a lot

Hmmm... I didn't know I was complaining! LOL

Don't have a TV or license to watch iPlayer, but was wondering if Georgia South was playing her red Westone (I admire her taste in bass guitars).

Same band that also openly praise Hamas and Hezbollah at their gigs, and tell their audiences things like "the only good Tory is a dead Tory, kill your local MP". Only to then be called out on it in light of things like the murders of Jo Cox and David Amess, and issue a half arsed apology that just screams "we're not sorry for what we did, only sorry we got caught". No, I'm not a fan. They seem like they all need a slap.

Yup, their name is a reference to the IRA's use of a shotgun blast to the knees of suspected informers or rival drug gangs.

Ampeg venture V7 into Ampeg Svt212 - no sound
BassmanPaul replied to Scott 999's topic in Amps and Cabs
Just as a thought: does the amp have an Effects Loop? If it does then try linking the Send and Return jacks with a signal cable. The normalizing contacts on these jacks are notorious for corrosion because they are not used that often. When this happens they fail to pass a signal through the loop. -
Ah, that kind of kneecap then. Not for me either if so.

Just watched Nova Twins set. Absolutely ridiculous bass sounds being produced - loved it!

The US Cirrus were very good basses, but, to me, the Tim Landers models, especially the first generation, were far better basses, I had a few over the year and coud never fault them.

Yep the grain shows through - not easy to see in the pic. As an ex metal guitarist I've absolutely no desire to see how my double bass fits into a metal band ... the feedback issues alone would make my hair fall out 😁 The see thru black finish does a good job of hiding all the repairs this old girl has had in her life ... plus makes disguising the new neck a lot easier.

Mixed feelings about Kneecap playing. I listen to a lot of anarcho-punk that can have some pretty muddled up politics, but a band that seem predicated entirely on IRA cosplay rubs me up the wrong way. Perhaps it's just because I was minutes away from being blown up by an IRA bomb in London back in the 90s, but a band that openly celebrate an organisation that deliberately targeted civilians and are now just an organised crime syndicate sickens me.

Do U-BASS? - A ukulele bass appreciation thread
PainInTheBass replied to SamIAm's topic in Bass Guitars
I recently bought a Kala solid body U-Bass with a P pickup, which has nickel round wounds tuned EADG. Sounds just like a 34 inch scale bass, but bouncier (or less piano-like). I absolutely love it, and find myself almost exclusively playing this instead of my long scale basses. I took it to my luthier to sort out some high frets, and now with an action under 2mm, I can give it a firm pluck with no buzz. The string tension is perfect. (He couldn't get over how cool this instrument is, and the fact it has regular bass pitch and tuning from such a short scale.) I fell in love with it the moment I picked it up, and after a couple of minutes noodling realised the shorter scale was allowing me to be more creative, because I can move from point A to point B on the fretboard with ease. If you're reading this and you haven't tried one, I highly recommend giving it a go. -

I’ve got a TC RS210c 2x10 cab for sale. This is the cab used for the TC RS combos. The shelf is also the right size for a Markbass head. Decent condition - a few scapes in the bottom as to be expected. Comes with a cover and the trolley handle. I also have a TC BG250 head for sale separately. Trade wise, I’m looking for a 4x10 cab - thinking Ashdown ABM but not too fussed. Collection from Tewkesbury as I don’t have anything to ship it in
