BassApprentice started following Wanted - list of StingRay variants

As a side of the vast array of Stingray models and variations - I popped by GuitarGuitar for lunchtime wander and they had about 10 Stingrays, all USA so nothing under £2,900. As much as it's confusing, they are obviously selling the SUBs and the Sterling's if you're only left with the top shelf stuff.

Deconrad started following Wilson K4 Pickup Question
-
Hi: Is anyone here familiar with the Wilson K4 upright bass pickup (https://wilson-pickups.com/product/k4/)? This has 4 separate piezo pickups mounted in the bridge, very close to where the strings cross over. The pickup came on my Pawlik EUB, and I like its sound a lot, but the A and D strings seem to have slightly more output than the E and G, and I want to adjust that. But the instructions on their site—"By simply rotating a pickup slightly you can adjust the volume level of each string individually making the perfect balance between the output from your strings, a feature not covered by any other competitor."—don't seem to work. I've found no more detailed instruction on this on their site or elsewhere. If anyone here has used that pickup and has any tips on it, I'd love to know. Thanks!

£2959 for the natural? Jesus. I mean, I do love my 2020 vintage sunburst ss Stingray, but not almost three grand's worth of love. That's nuts. They were about £2k when they launched. That's effectively a 48% increase in just over 5 years. God knows what the justification is, I'm pretty sure other American brands haven't increased by anything like as much in that time. -

Relisting this as, try as I might, I am not A Jazz Bass Guy. Original thread below, the only thing that’s changed since May is the bass is now wearing a nicely worn in set of La Bella IMA Super Polished strings. I’m in the market for a JMJ Mustang so would be interested in a trade involving one of those (plus cash adjustment on my end). Collection from Haywards Heath preferred, or I’d be happy to meet within 30 miles or so.

Best leather dyes are made by Fiebing’s, but be very careful - the stuff gets everywhere and is next to impossible to remove -

It’d definitely be difficult to place an order without knowing what you were going to get -
Virtually new Fender Bassman 100 cover from Roqsolid, i got it to use while my flightcase was being manufactured so was only used briefly. Its a little dusty but will wipe. They're about £65 new + shipping Cover is in Hope Valley, happy to post within UK, probably gonna cost a tenner just for how small it doesn't fold up.

Great sounding preamp/di, I'm having a clear out of things I don't use enough to warrant keeping and I already have a clean preamp/di that does the job for me as well as a couple of colourful sounding pre/di pedals so I really don't need this sat around as it may as well be with someone who'll be using it. It does that lovely Eden clean crisp sound, punchy and lovely. Comes with a power supply (don't think it's the original one) but I used with my voodoo lab power supply as that does 15v. Condition is very very good. Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for collection or I can deliver locally, happy to post within UK.

Another cool pedal I've had sat around a while, sounds great, I just don't use dirt in my current setup so while it sounds really good it's just sat in a cupboard and might as well be getting used by someone. Condition is excellent / looks new to me. Here's someone doing a demo of one: Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for collection or I can do local delivery, also happy to do UK poastage.

The MXR Bass Auto Q is an auto-wah / envelope filter based on the sound of the Cry Baby pedal, this one designed specifically for bass guitar. The Bass Auto Q features adjustable sensitivity and blendable LFO signal. Condition is decent, the case has some chipped paint (around the base plate), just dusty otherwise. Everything works as it should. All it's original knobs present and correct. Seen these listed on ebay for a fair bit more than this and in roughly this condition. this is the broken battery clip, for some reason the battery hatch doesn't stay shut by itself either hence the velcro fix by a previous owner from these parts, does the job Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for local collection or I can do local delivery, also happy to do UK postage.

I am a bit late to the party unfortunately. I will add though ….so much voodoo around the subject of bass bridges. On Fender style bass guitars, the original bridge works very well. If you are intent on changing out for an expensive one, I would advise against it. A good compromise is the Gotoh 203B….a nice low priced bridge, albeit it does have the extra fixing holes at the front which I think is slightly annoying. It is also thicker, so you may need a neck shim? It does however look the part still, but with good adjustment.

Not having done a deal on BC with the excellent Gareth since 2013, I thought it was about time! So I bought a pedal and - as was the case over a decade ago - everything was splendid!

Dire Straits, Dire Straits. Sultans became such a classic I think it possibly overshadowed how great this album is. -
Here's a picture of the official tool No, I never had one, I fashioned something out of part of a binder clip, as explained in this TB thread: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/yamaha-bb-series-tuner-adjustment-tool-i-just-made-one-that-works.1440391/
