  2. Maybe consider some basic IEM solution? Even if you don't have your own mix, you can typically get AT LEAST a feed from one fo the wedge monitors or the PA speakers themselves. Most are active these days and will have a 'thru' output. You can use a cheap Behringer P1 personal headphone amp, and plug into it whatever mix you can get in one XLR, and your bass on the other. With good sealing earphones (no need to spend hundreds, a KZ with the right tips would be fine) you can get a very reasonable balance. The main thing is that the earphones have a good seal. No need to go wireless, but that would be an improvement if the solution works for you.
  3. Hi everyone, first time poster and upright bass newbie I got myself a Harley Benton DB02. I really love it, but one thing I really miss is it being able to stand like the Ibanez UB804. When messing around with an Ibanez UB804 I liked that feature so much that I thought about getting one just for that alone. I've seen options here to adjust various cymbal stands, camera stands, tattoo artists armrests etc but I was wondering if anyone could give specific advice which product to get and how to adjust it. Because of the DB02's scroll's weight the balance point is somewhere around the screws at the back where the neck attaches to the body. With my height I assume that this point would be around 120cm. Since Ibanez uses a Tama Roadpro stand I think the Tama Roadpro Straight Cymbal Stand HC82W might be a good choice, but I don't know how I'd go about attaching it to the Harley Benton. Any suggestions how to adjust that or about alternatives would be appreciated. Ideally, I'd like a system where I can easily remove it again to pack everything up. Thanks in advance
  4. If you do so, make sure you KNOW what was being said and not rely on 'apparentlies'
  5. Still groovin' after 33 years! En Vogue -My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It) The last from Glastonbury 2025
  6. Bump for this superb preamp!
  7. Bump. Don’t be afraid to make an offer, I won’t be offended.
  8. A blues band could be anything from JJ Cale to Muddy Waters, SRV to Keb Mo, Joe Louis Walker to Bonnie Raitt. Can't you expand your repertoire and tailor your set to the venue?
  9. Ok, time for me to fess up. Upstairs, right now, in my original office/workshop where I do anything, mostly IT and electronics, not DIY or music stuff, except soldering cables and whatnot.... though have done some downstairs in my m̶u̶s̶i̶c̶ ̶r̶o̶o̶m̶ front room which I've taken over to do all my music at home, which is this.... VID20250831125930.mp4 Amazingly my wife has let me get away with this. But she thinks both are messy, however I tidy them up. Maybe not surprisingly our visitors to the front room these days tend to be musicians 😎🎸🥁
  10. I got it at GAK March 2024 as an early birthday present - I sorted it out through one of the staff there Ryan who I had a few email conversations with about it. My local luthier set it up for me with the new strings and the old ones are included. I assume it was made in late 23 or very early 24 as it’s a newer model and relatively recent addition to the Hofner range. I’ve enclosed pictures of the booklet which has the matching serial number to the inside label - you can even see the name of the craftsman handwritten on the label. Hofner really know how to make something special. I’m sure Hofner would be able to find the exact date for you if needed. If you want pictures of the inside label and serial number and are seriously interested please PM me.
  11. Thanks - it will. It'll take about 4 months to work it out, though...
  12. I tried that before but it doesn't look right. Sorted now. And lined up by bags. I've more bags than basses 😆🤔.
  13. IEMs are great for that too - we have a normal guitar amp and a normal drum kit, I have in ears which does both the protection and the monitoring. I hear them (they are in the mix too), but I hear me louder. It is so good to be able to hear the nuances of what you are playing one the bass (although scary when you first start) loud and clearly.
  14. I've come back to the fuzzmo after a fair few years, seriously excellent fuzz that does heaps. Think you might regret selling it mate. Glwts
  15. No issues. Any questions, please let me know. Shipping available.

  17. Oh, they know, I have made it abundantly clear. I have not, but I don't want more gear TBH. Also, I think IEMs are a great idea for a quiet stage, but when you have a tub thumper and a normal guitar amp (not loud by any means) on stage, I think it kind of negates them and I'd rather go for protection over monitoring. I have considered this option in the past, however.
  18. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.

  20. wow you must live in a posh area. Pretty much all road markings have completely worn away around Bristol.
  21. Maybe lay it on its side? I was wondering what you meant about a wedding and then figured you mean the white rose buttonhole thingy. That was my daughter's wedding just over a year ago.
  22. If you get the Tobias I hope you will like it better than this 😉 (looks am.....! 🔥
  23. Bump for added sale option. Would consider trades for Fender P / PJ 5 string or Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5.
  24. Hi guys. Looking to trade my original (I believe 1989) Bartolini Tobias split pickups for same era dual coil pickups. I know some folks preferred the sound of the splits as they have a little more of that J bass vibe to them. I prefer the duals for what I’m after so if anyone has a pair and willing to trade, I’d be very interested. No sales, I’m strictly looking for a trade only. They are in a good shape considering the age, and work and sound exactly as they should. Again not looking for Gibson era pickups, have tried most of these and they’re not my jam. Thanks!
  25. Is there a thread about "pet peeves"? I'll put my music bass related ones there. Another irritational prejudice is those #@&£ers that drive straight through t-junction roundabouts without respecting the stop sign. Can't count the times I've got to the roundabout way before any traffic on my right, but can see a vehicle or line of vehicles that are far enough away that I have the right of way to enter the roundabout, but they are going so quickly without slowing down for the stop markers on the road, that they might barrel over and hit my car, me and my passengers when I enter.
  26. Have you tried hearing more of your bass via IEMs @ezbass? It can be a very simple and inexpensive setup to be effective. Take the Behringer MA400 headphone amp with passthrough which is about £15. Get your bass into it, connect your IEMs (£5-£20). On stage vary your bass to taste, whilst still hearing the band ambiently.
