  2. What Hodge said above
  3. The opening tune of the 1994 Joe Henderson album 'Double Rainbow'. this is the complete Nico Assumpção bass part for the tune 'Felicidade'. Steady read but there are some fills that will trip you up due to the tempo. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/felicidade-joe-henderson/
  4. The latter ... the AliKat looks just great but didn't sound anything like on a par with either of my 'true' DBs at the time, so I created patches (not the right word, but I can't remember how they describe them) for the AliKat based on each of the two good-sounding DBs. Obviously I could have done the former as well, but it made life simpler for @Silvia Bluejay on sound engineering duty if I left those basses alone and let her do the tweaking at the PA ... we put the whole band through the PA at every gig,
  5. Did you ever get this sorted? I notice mine is very similar and can't resolve it
  6. I would love to catch them live. Always had to work late when they have come to London over the last few years. Glad you enjoyed the show!
  7. The review says it all: comprehensive, US published and hard to find. Price is UK posted, unread condition. Now £16. Times And Seasons - The Rise and Fall and Rise of the Zombies Robin Platts HoZac Books, $31.99 356 pages Classic British pop, expertly chronicled Few books on the Zombies exist, but theirs is a story worth telling. And it's predictable that, given their Stateside star status, this quintessentially English quintet of She's Not There and Tell He No fame should be chronicled on an American imprint. The band only hung up its touring shoes last year after leader/keyboardist Rod Argent's stroke, but the work he and singer Colin Blunstone created after their reunion in 2001 - the years since 1968 being silent, in a Zombies sense - are also covered in detail by author Platts. The band always had a youthful camaraderie, having come together at high school, and that comes over faithfully in this account of their heyday - plus a long tail that details their subsequent musical careers. While Blunstone went solo and Argent created an eponymous prog band (of God Gave Rock And Roll To You fame), guitarist Paul Atkinson went behind the scenes and signed Abba to CBS - a feather in anyone's cap. Detail is forensic without being stifling. If the layout is a trifle fanzine-y, the integration of illustrative material like press cuttings and photos with the text helps make this an easy read. And the urge to play the music, always the sign of a good book, is irresistible.
  8. This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.
  9. New and unplayed, Ruf Records latest prodigy’s new release. Features Kingfish Ingham and Shemekia Copeland. Powerful stuff from someone who’s touring here in the autumn and should not be missed. £20 from Amazon, £10 posted UK here. NOW £8
  10. 😂 the actual body will be a little bigger.
  11. Roscoe LG3005 up for sale. I bought this a few months ago, but I’m probably not going to gig it regularly, so it’s up for sale. I’ve done two gigs recently with it, but it’s not for me really. Putting it up, for what I paid for it- though there’s a brand new set of DR Fat Beams that I put on it last week. 35” scale. 18mm string spacing. 45mm nut width. 9.4-9.7 lbs weight, slightly different between two scales. One piece body, quilted top, matching quilting on headstock. Bartolini pick ups. Bartolini NTMB-918F pre amp - 4 knob (vol, blend, stacked treble/bass, and push pull mid, which I think changes the mid frequency). Trim pot at rear, which I believe may be a master gain out- similar to some Status basses. It’s pretty much immaculate, with a couple of tiny indents on the neck- shown on photos. Three of ferrules have a split, but this is just cosmetic I reckon- the guy I bought it from was a guitar repairer, and he said he’d never gotten around to replacing them. USA Hipshot tuners. Comes with the Roscoe branded hard case. Trade wise I’m interested in Sadowsky Will Lee 5 strings (Japanese or German). German Sadowsky 5 string single pick up MM style. PJ5 Sads too. US Lakland 5P. Or maybe NS CR4M or 5M. Also Vincent 5s - so that sort of thing. Can add a bit of cash for the right trade if required. Thanks for looking.
  12. I find this in the modern/poly mode, but not in vintage. In fact, if anything, in vintage mode I find is even more immediate than my OC2.
  13. Music stands and blowing amps - bleurgh! Is that Gullivers?
  14. Perfect for the start of "Blockbuster"
  15. No cover, though there was a cover that it lived in but I've taken that now for my hartke. I can't remember exactly but it came direct from EBS in Sweden in 2019 I think about autumn time. So coming up to 6 years, been well looked after.
  16. Clearing out a lot of stuff that is just sitting in boxes under my desk. For sale is my EBS Microbass in Bass preamp and DI. Bought it on here a few years ago and used it for a number of tours for FOH and practice at home until it started to momentarily cut out on channel A intermittently but never for long, but long enough to not want to use it for live. Amazing sounding preamp and speaker sim and incredibly versatile. Probably could be used as a practice solution for somebody or perhaps somebody with tech knowledge or an interest in repairing things could fix it. £75 delivered.

  17. Seeing as I've just done a gig where the guitar player's Helix went down three times, I'm not sure that it's only tube amps that are temperamental.
  18. For sale is a set of EMG J Jazz Bass pickups for 4 string bass. Comes with the solderless controls and wiring kit. Doesn't include the Jazz control plate sorry, using this just to keep it all together safely for the moment. I think I threw the box away but can package them securely and all instructions are available from the EMG website. Had these in my Jazz Bass for a year and saw very little use as I tend to gig mainly 5 string and precision basses. Decided I wanted to change back to passive pickups, so these are up for sale. Great sounding pickups and completely noiseless!

  19. For sale is my Truetone 1Spot CS7 Great power supply in very good condition (just a slight scratch on the yellow paint) complete with box, mounting kit and all the various cables. Reason for sale is that I bought a CIOKS SOL for my Quad Cortex which I then obviously I sold but it still fits my needs better than the CS7 so needs to go! £110 ono delivered

  20. For sale is my Rockboard Quad 4.1 pedlaboard fitted with the Rockboard Mod 1 patchy bay. Used this as my pedalboard for the last 5 years and it has been great, very light but sturdy and very easy to build a good pedalboard with. It's covered in velcro that can of course be removed. Also included is a Pedaltrain gig bag that came with the Pedaltrain that I recently bought. There is a small hole in the case which I've pictured and doesn't include the shoulder strap but other than that it's never been used. This could probably be stitched or glued back together... not that I'm an arts and crafts expert though! It just happens to fit the rockboard Quad 1 perfectly so thought I would list it as one whole thing.
  21. Purchased at the end of March this year, in mint condition, used a few times but just not for me. Comes complete with genuine Boss soft carry case and Boss power adapter. Will also chuck in the USB cable which you can use to connect to a PC. £200 plus postage from the I.O.W
