  1. Past hour
  2. From ‘72/73 era. In great working order, perfect really. 100w of vintage valve goodness. As much as I love it it’s not getting much use due to being involved in two acoustic bands. Happy to travel to meet up if that helps anyone not fortunate enough to live in Yorkshire.

  3. Very nice collection indeed a black/ rosewood p bass with a tortoise guard is one of my favourites 👏👏
  4. Super cool pedal. Sounds and looks the business. Unfortunately only playing in acoustic bands at the moment so pedals sat on the sidelines. Price includes UK mainland postage.

  8. You Got Nothing I Want - Cold Chisel
  9. With a limited number of pedals and devices (to use in my signal paths) Pre, Post, Amp, DI, BT, IEM (band feed, bass), transmitter headphones, etc, rather than having to move and jig devices and their connections around into different configurations based on the use case: practice at home, band rehearsals, videoing, gigging, I'm thinking about audio routing with 1/4" patch panels (or other compact mono or stereo patch cables). I'm thinking it might be worth the effort and sacrifice. Has anyone tried this before and if so what worked/didn't etc?
  10. Noll with volume (push/pull for active/passive), balance, tone, bass, mid, treble yes it comes with new gig bag
  11. Mint condition Precision bought earlier this year. Daphne Blue. Original tweed case. Never gigged, just a couple of rehearsals. Now surplus to requirements. Fitted with Hipshot 'A' bridge & D Tuner. Fender w/b/w pickguard, neckplate & Schaller strap lock buttons. All original parts included. Price includes UK shipping. Collection welcome, any questions or more photos please don't hesitate to ask.
  12. You Can't Always Get What You Want - The Rolling Stones
  13. Yesterday
  14. I'm another potential, no inconvenient gigs at the moment.
  15. I worked out that I am currently working on around 65 songs for upcoming gigs, some on bass, some on guitar. Despite that I managed to fit in some build time this evening and wired up the Bass channel:
  16. Barefaced One Ten Cab 200 watt 8 ohms. Excellent condition with the usual tolex lift at the back. A nice loud little cab, very light and perfect for small gigs and rehearsals. Pickup preferred but I could post at buyer’s cost in the UK.

  19. Glad you're such a nerd. Don't you realise that this sort of information is like gold dust to most of us pluckers and plonkers? May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back.
  20. Hey everyone! If anyone’s after info on Blackstar gear, feel free to give me a shout. I’ve got pretty much every Unity amp here at my studio in Milton Keynes, I’m on Blackstar’s artist roster, and I’ve been gigging and recording with their amps for years, happy to share first-hand experience or answer any questions.
  21. Sorry I'm such a nerd. There's a problem with all bass cabs and that is putting them on the floor, at low frequencies the floor reflects the sound and effectively reinforces the bass giving an extra 6db but only in the bass region. If there is a rear wall that adds to the effect and so does a side wall, when you get to this stage your speaker is effectively sitting at the end of a room sized horn. Just by room placement you can get the effect of cranking the bass control to full boost. At rehearsal try winding the bass control back to 3 o'clock and maybe even all the way just to get a feel of what that sounds like. In a really resonant room I've found I have to back the bass off startlingly. Most of those old Celestion drivers have a resonance around 70-80Hz so anything below that is not what you are hearing in Andy's tone, well not much anyway. I don't think it is a problem with your amp which is well regarded as being good at that sort of tone and to be fair I don't think it is a problem with the Super Compact. You can probably save some money by not rushing to buy a new cab. It might be worth going over to other parts of Bass Chat and asking if anyone else has nailed the Andy Fraser tone. Either General Discussion which is read by nearly everyone or Effects where the real tone monsters prowl would se you question and be able to offer more help. Also look in Events and see if there is a bass bash near you. It's a gathering of bassists who all bring along a lot of gear and we get to try each others kit as well as swap ideas. The South West bash is soon and there is one in the South East coming up. With so few music shops remaining its probably the only place where you will see such a wide range of basses and amplification under one roof.
  22. My heritage is half Celtic. Have you ever had tatties and neeps? Have you ever seen a man with a bald heid? That is all.
  23. Now this guy knows how to party! TBH I have been considering a second JMJ for a while now... Nice to see I am not the only one. Any differences between them at all? @Lozz196
  24. Wow! This is madness. £400 for this Japanese monster?!
  25. Lost In Love - Air Supply
  26. No problem, just dropped you a personal message 👍 Cheers Freddie
