  2. c1979 local charity gig... Aug 2025 local charity gig... A theme going on that isn't just that I have the same bass on???
  3. Can anyone recommend a bass stand for a Kbass, very similar to an Ampeg Baby Bass .
  4. We were rehearsing for a big charity multi band event this Sunday. Rushing from work, I was shattered and our drum track edits hadn’t saved so it wasn’t as slick as Wednesday’s run through. However, I am loving my BCB-60 board and have rediscovered my 2008 USA Jazz bass. Once we got over the hiccups, it sounded immense!
  5. yes only made 1996-98 might be 50-100 made FTT Bass Blaster is a great overdrive , I would like a try on their Black Vehicle
  6. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
  7. Belated thanks for the replies. After restringing an acoustic the other day in my lap, it moving about all over the place, and not having enough hands to keep it still whilst holding strings down & winding pegs, I decided that even though doing a bass is nowhere near as fiddly, I never want to restring like this again. I’ve just received the Hercules HA206 folding cradle. The quality of their stands made me want to try this. Whilst I’m sure the solid block ones are good, I like the fact that this folds down flat for storage. I was hoping it wouldn’t feel too flimsy, and I’m pleased to see there’s enough weight for it to seem pretty sturdy. It has little rubber non slip ‘feet’, is height adjustable and has the nice black & yellow colour scheme of their stands. Wish I’d done this years ago!
  8. Hello everyone, I own a Peavey TL-5 Tim Landers Signature bass from the early 90s. Mine is in good playing condition, but the hardware has been changed (currently black). I would like to restore it back to its original factory condition, with the correct gold hardware (bridge, tuners, knobs, etc.). I am looking for advice from collectors or luthiers who are familiar with this model: What were the original tuners used on the TL-5? (I know they are open-gear style, but I want to confirm the exact model/brand). What is the exact bridge model and where could I find a gold replacement? What type of knobs and potentiometers were originally used? Any recommendations for sources (Reverb, eBay, specialist sellers) where I could find authentic parts? I’ve already tried to contact Peavey customer service without success. Here is a link with an apparently original model for reference: Peavey TL5 5 String Bass Active Pickups 90s Green With Case | Reverb I would also like to hear tips on restoration (cleaning, refinishing, setup) that would help preserve originality and value. Attached are some photos. Any help, catalogs, or experience from other Peavey TL-5 owners would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance,
  9. My first gig, probably 1987. My most recent gig photo:
  10. Anyone seen or played one of these? Apparently, all the money's on the E-string... https://eastwoodguitars.com/products/eastwood-the-sandman-2-string-bass?srsltid=AfmBOooeuftkRxv9OB_YanEqAVfXff4y82cr7_ZcO7ZM4XeZ3iAo9Ne9#case-fit
  11. I set my car stereo volume to 11, 17 or 23 just to annoy people like you 🤣
  12. This seriously needs a deluxe reissue. There's a lot of stuff that could be bundled with this to fill up another two CDs. 'By The Time We Got to Woodstock', demos, the live B-sides.
  13. Fits a 2EQ or 3EQ Stingray with truss rod wheel, so approx 1990-2018. Made by the people in California that produced the original EBMM matte black pickguards back in the 90s / 00’s, this is one I custom ordered a few years ago. But my bass is now HH so I have a similar replacement. It’s got some scratches, as pictured, but you don’t want a shiny new pickguard on your 30 year old instrument right? 😊 £40 collected, or I can post via Royal Mail at cost.
  14. Now there's a thought... I'm at sea for another month, I'll plug in when I get home and see if the neighbours are still as keen for me to "get rid of that f****** thing"
  15. Is that you in the pic (on El Cap)?
  16. Go and find one then. The night is still young!
  17. You could sell me your Hulk and use the money to buy Si’s Meatbox. Everyone wins! (I already have a Meatbox, but always fancied trying the Hulk to compare). The Meatbox is a MONSTER.
  18. 1st is from '78 - earliest picture on my i-pad. 19 at that time 2nd is from June this year, making me 66
  19. Ha! I would have taken your arm off a year ago for this, ended up with a Mantic Hulk. If funds were better I'd be tempted...
  20. Definitely makes me feel like a shortarse.
  21. Unfortunately the Barclaycard left some clues. Despite my subconscious GAS denials.
  22. Today
  23. Ah ok so not quite as tall as Pino. Still not short though.
  24. I'd not heard that, sounds like a great tip, thanks! I don't think there is any wood missing, but certainly the fibres seem broken rather than crushed: but it's a straightforward low-risk-sounding thing to try 🙂
