  2. I understand that sentiment, I think. For me, it is about the thrill of the chase - finding an obscure bass guitar, getting it restored, researching which piano I want. But once I have it all, I then need to sit down and play it, and learn to master the instrument. Last night I opened up a box of stuff which I ordered from Kitronik.co.uk and got bored while I was taking it out of the box.... Retail therapy doesn't work well, for me!
  3. Thanks to you both! Making me re-think though, see if I can hold my nerve and let go????
  4. Hi I bought this amp from Franzbassist before Xmas. The photos are his as they are excellent (Hope you don’t mind sir) it’s a great amp with decent effects as you would expect from Boss. 5. Certainly made me laugh. 🤣 Dave
  6. Don't know if you can class it as a pedal but my Sonicake Pocket Master is terrific @ £42.49 John 😎
  7. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
  8. That they appear happy to fix things that were bought used and therefore likely well out of warranty, to do so with no charge, and then suck up the courier fees as they did with me and have dome for others, is frankly extraordinary. Comparison with businesses who do exactly the opposite, either refusing to accept a unit as faulty - "that whistling sound is normal for this class of amplifier" (mention no names), to meet warranty terms, or quoting bank-breaking fees for repairs - makes it even more so. There will always be exceptions hence my note to @Minininjarob above, but to quote Melody Maker from the mid 70's "Even Stevie Nicks must have the occasional bad day". Whether you like what they produce, brands like Ashdown, Status, Trace, Wal etc are national treasures 👍
  9. A lot, 😂🤣🥳
  10. Made in Korea. New in packet. Price includes InPost locker service.
  11. Bought many moons ago for a project…..never used!
  12. A new venue for us last night, Ruskins Bar in Kendal. A nice music bar in the heart of town, eerily quite at 9pm, but we waited until 9.30pm to start and the place filled up nicely, with lots of people dancing by the end. We used the house PA, which apparently isn't considered to be all that great, but we made it work pretty well for us. They want us back later in the year, and the fee will go up too! I really could have used the 3x10 last night, but I was travelling with the drummer and compromised because of space in the car. It was nice to meet Ian ( @Pirellithecat ) who travelled an hour down from Ulpha to see us. Cheers! Rob
  13. My rehearsal bass is in for a much needed setup so I took my current favourite 2008 USA Jazz to rehearsal last night. I am hurting from two days of intense fitness, not helped by a 19 stone ex-marine accidentally knee striking my ribs, so standing with a bass for hours was always going to be a challenge. I haven’t posted a couple of rehearsals recently as we didn’t take photos (I know we don’t need pics but they do liven up my posts). So I snapped my bass in situ, as I wasn’t feeling particularly photogenic. Rehearsal itself was good but I found my energy levels just collapsing towards the end.

  15. Trouble is, having used the mighty TE-1200 a lot of things will feel a bit gutless after the oodles of effortless power that can bring!
  16. I’m considering the Microtubes 900V2 and it would be an ex demo model so hopefully new enough to not be affected by problem components
  17. I've reached a point where there's really nothing else I want or need in the musical line. I have two basses and two guitars I really like, bass and guitar pedalboards I am happy with, a lightweight amp and cab adequate for any gigging I am ever likely to do, three keyboards (an 88-note stage piano for home use, a lightweight rompler for any gigging needs and a microkorg that I hardly ever use), a handful of mics, a decent laptop for recording with more software on it than I will ever use, and a digitakt for drum sequencing. Oh, and a nyckelharpa. I miss the thrill of comparing products, watching youtube videos about gear I might buy and all that. I know I'm very lucky to have the things I have, but I do miss GAS, which is an odd situation to find myself in. As a child of the sixties, I grew up believing in the consumerist myth, and now I no longer worship at that shrine, it has left a bit of a hole in my life. I have reached "peak stuff" and now am more excited to get rid of unneeded items than to acquire more. Will it last???
  18. Mesa Powerhouse 210, 600w 8ohm. Great sounding cab but I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a 15’s guy and always go for my Diesel 115’s. And for the pubs I play one cab’s enough…, Really good all round order with nothing of note condition wise. Comes with original cover. No trades but don’t be afraid to make a reasonable offer.

  20. The Tobias Classic 6 bass with serial number 2105 dates to the period immediately following Gibson's acquisition of Tobias, dating to late 1992 or early 1993. Production Period Details Gibson Transition: Michael Tobias sold the company to Gibson in 1990. Basses with serial numbers up to 2044 are considered the last "California" models (made in Burbank, Los Angeles). Nashville Production: Serial number 2105 follows the last California production serial number, indicating that this particular instrument was one of the first produced at Gibson's new facility in Nashville, Tennessee. The entire original luthiers did not relocate to Nashville, leading to differences in the production process compared to previous models. Features: Despite the change of location, the first basses produced in Nashville retained many of the original design features. This 6-string bass likely still features the asymmetrical neck and original Bartolini pickups/preamps. In short, your Tobias Classic 6 is a historic example that marks the transition from Michael Tobias' original ownership to Gibson's, making it an interesting piece for collectors and enthusiasts.
  21. I am selling a beautiful bass from the Italian Liuteria Claire Basses&Guitars, model Etna 5, with a Black Korina body, flamed maple neck, ebony fingerboard, spalted wood pickguard, PKV Pickups and electronics.
