  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks. Im just wondering if its the battery clip as the connector that goes to the red wire is really tight (broke my nail trying to get if off) while the other connector came off really easy. Maybe its too loose?
  3. Today
  4. Maybe, I just saw a fleck of red under the refinish. I'll pop some more photos up tomorrow
  5. Oooh! I have one of those combos itxs imaginatively called a 1110 (gp11 + 10" speakers). Mine sounded a bit rough and needed the matched transistors in the front end of the power amp replacing. It's also got the 'wrong' psu from new, so I was able to add an extra pair of NOS mosfets to unleash unimagined power levels... I'll add more to the story. It had Eminence Beta 10s (maybe not the best choice) fitted and one was reverse polarity so swapping its leads around greatly helped. It weighs about 96lbs so I added 50mm castors, which lasted a couple of months. So I fitted heavy duty 75mm ones. Bought it from a lad in the midlands. He had a mate there who had helped him move it. They offered to carry it to my estate, and where aghast when the old fart picked it up and put it in on his own. Sometimes it's not strength it's just knowing how to lift safely, but 'it made I larf'.
  6. Do You think it was orinally Dakota red?
  7. Hope it all turns out for the best.
  8. Yesterday
  9. Basschat, thy work is done.
  10. Electronics or pickup issue then. You could try connecting the pickup(s) direct to the jack socket and see what happens to the volume.
  11. No, sorry shouldve mentioned thats been checked and is fine
  12. Yes, his first bass was a left handed Wilson Rapier. It was stolen but when they got their contract he switched to right handed jazz basses which he had switched around and repainted that grey colour.
  13. If this doesn't sell soon I think I might part it out. Shame to do that but if anyone is interested in individual parts please let me know and I can look into that. Ta
  14. Or .. slightly randomly a nice set of golf clubs 🤔
  15. That has just reawakened my PTSD.
  16. Could be the pickup height.
  17. My Favourite Headache - Geddy Lee
  18. She plays better bass than me whilst riding a unicycle (see YouTube) And now I see that she is even more talented than I thought. What’s not to like ?
  19. Another moment of madness, never mind. A November '63 Jazz. Refin at some point in early '70s. I believe it could have been CAR originally. Apart from that all looks good. I had it taken apart to confirm (photos to follow later on this week). Rusty strings, frets aren't great, sounds superb plus some provenance.
  20. Thanks HeadlessBassist, I've not heard of either performer but cd purchased👍
  21. The saved setting of interest is the room EQ. The variable is the amount of sound absorbing meat bags present. Empty room needs a lot less bass. Your drummer's breakfast inconsistencies etc fall under mix issues.
  22. Always one 🙄
  23. The grille on the Ashdown 1x15 cab I used to own was held on with velcro and could be prized away from the baffle with a screwdriver. Even if you're only using the Rumble as a power amp and cab', I'd still be surprised if it will be much of an improvement on what you already have. I'd question whether the BF 1x10, whilst very loud for its size, would do the job for you. A single 10, no matter how capable, just won't shift enough air to be adequate in a rock band. It'll be expensive to find out, too.
  24. PM'd you about this
