mcnach started following Source Audio Aftershock - Bass distortion/fuzz/overdrive
-
This stereo pedal has three distortion types, can save up to 3 presets as it is without any additional gear. It can, of course, be used with the Neuro hub etc and MIDI for maximum control and maaaany more presets, but I never really explored that, the pedal does all I wanted as it stands. The Neuro app, however, is very handy, as it gives you access to many parameters. The way I used it was to create the basic overdrive/fuzz sounds using the app, and then just rely on the unit's physical controls to adjust drive, blend etc to taste. It's essentially 3 dirt pedals in one, and you can modify each until you are bored . It can run two of the distortion engines simultaneously, and blend them, stack them, or output them in stereo. It can do too many things to mention, so if you're not familiar with the Aftershock it's probably best to have a look at this: https://www.sourceaudio.net/aftershock-bass-distortion.html and this (the demo focus a bit too much on the higher gain sounds, but it's excellend at low gain sounds too):

I only scoop out the lower mids, like a blessed piece of fairy wood (ie. ‘62 alder, touched by Saint Leo)

Up for sale is my great little Epifani UL 110. 250w 8Ohms. 11.6 Kg Bought for home use but has been to a couple of gigs as an extension cab to my old TKs 112 I had at the time. Easily powerful enough on it's own for acoustic stuff etc. Good overall condition. One of the bottom corner protectors is a bit damaged but it dose its job and the carpet is going a bit bobbly in places. Collection from St Helens. Not sure on postage yet as I'm pretty low on packaging and suitable boxes. Could possibly meet up if not too far.

Tiny overdrive, particularly good at low gain thick bass overdrive tones that retain the low end. Very small consumption (manual says 6 mA) and according to Mooer: "very small and exquisite" 😄 It also says, about its 2-mode operation: *HP: High peak mode, boost up the bottomend, when increasing distortion by Drive knob, you will get more volume and a slight increase in high-mid range (around 3.5KHz) *LP: Low peak mode, color up extreme little to the original sound, very nice for clean boosting The pedal is in excellent condition. Price includes delivery (UK).

Mine weighs at around 3.9kgs, I took it to a wedding gig in Grantham this weekend and survided a 30 song setlist with no shoulder pain. I've mostly used the P or the J tone only which covered most of my needs. I love the feel of the neck of this thing, rounded on the edges, not too chunky not too thin. I played comfortably on that 2 sets we played. I tend to roll of the tone knob a tad, it's the sweet spot for me. I bought the instrument from BassDirect without having tried any Dingwalls at all! Sure it is expensive as some people say for an Indonesian made instrument, but I've no regrets. Also like what they did to the pickguard holes on the knob and jack. Just remove the screws and no need to remove any washers on the knob and jack. Now, I'm just looking forward to put more miles on this instrument!

Ooof, why would you do this to a Barefaced cab?
Huge Hands replied to ossyrocks's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have 2x very early 210s, If memory serves they are serial numbers 9 and 10. Alex sent me the labels after I got the cabs, and I put them on myself. Mine had really bad Tolex peel issues around the access panel on the back and had to take them back to Alex twice. After the second time, I have not had any issues since. When I was a kid I had my own issues with being a bit addicted to peeling wallpaper in my bedroom. The old woodchip had started to come away in places, and I would pull on it. I don't know how I thought my parents would ever not notice the ever-growing patch of bare wall next to my bed, but I just had to keep pulling at it. I wonder if this is what happened here...... -
Just bought a A&H mixer from Donald. Brilliant transaction! It came next day delivery complete with original packaging, cable and manual. Excellent comms and a great guy to deal with. He couldn't have been more helpful, a real credit to Basschat. Thanks Donald
