  1. Past hour
  2. that would be more reasonable but maybe 6 bridges on a single bass could be pretty cool and make a big frankenstein monster machine with 6 different sets of strings flats rounds guitar upright classical violin
  3. Elon is part of the problem and not the solution. His involvement in other countries politics is frankly terrifying.
  4. Was using the Neotech Mega but switched to Pinegrove. Superb straps.
  5. I'm not surprised. If Fender's goal was to acquire Leo's workplace and his name and likeness, it's not more than logical that they don't "need" the G&L stock. They won't sell Fender-branded basses with G&L branded bridges and MDF pickups, anyway. It's a lot cheaper to sell or dispose of that stuff than to try to re-purpose it.
  6. Ah hang on, you mentioned inlays.... Maybe scratch my dumb question then
  7. Sadly inequality in Sweden has risen sharply since the 1990s and it is now the largest gap between rich and poor in the Nordic countries and also has a rising pace of racial tension and populist support than other Nordic countries. It’s probably not surprising that intolerance and populism goes hand in hand with inequality. It’s a trend playing out across the democratic world. The solution to this crisis IMO is only achieved through sound money and taxation of wealth rather than the narrow focus of income. This chart tells us everything we need to know if we continue down this path. Governments via central banks will continue to borrow massively and the velocity of money supply will continue to cause inflation while having a less and less impact upon economic growth. This is a doom loop feeding inflation of assets and a crisis in the bond markets as investors retreat from a system that is mathematically doomed to collapse eventually.
  8. Dumb question but..... Are you sure it wasn't a Warwick Streamer? You know, curved body, looks like a Spector but with a wenge neck Only asking as you couldn't remember how many strings it had and if you're about the same age as me then I can't remember where I was last Tuesday 😂
  9. Hi is your bass Active / passive if so is there any change in volume between the two. is it the same issue with both basses? Try the simple things first . try a different lead, try another battery although you say its new there are sometimes faulty batches sold, are you using standard 9volt or rechargable 9volt. Have you tried a different bass through your amp. it looks most likely a wiring issue either pickups , or on board pre amp , check all the soldered joints on the pots and any preamp boards.
  10. Despite the somewhat sarcastic delivery, Hellzero is not wrong in the philosophy - back to basics. So, the volume is up full, the EQ (on the bass) is set flat, and you've tried a fresh battery, correct?
  11. I'd say you have a good deal there. Looks great to me. Enjoy.
  12. B-b-but the boats! Very well put.
  13. I've been a bit worried walking home late at night with a £4k+ Dingwall strapped to my back so I got a cheap bass from a kindly basschatter to use when I know I'm going to be walking the mean streets of New Cross in the dark (it's not bad around here to be honest, it's just I've never carried anything this valuable around before). So, I met up with Paul walbassuk in a service station on Saturday (as I've done so often before) and handed over some notes in exchange for a bass (great transaction, lovely guy - huge thanks!) It's A BASS! First impressions. The output is HOT. I mean, you could power a light off it, very very hot. Heavy but comfortable. Neck is quite nice, but chunky baseball-bat like while narrow string spacing. Frets good. Nice satin feel. The finish is horrible. I HATE photoflame but hey. doesn't really matter. Tuners are fine. Bridge is fine. Action is high, will probably take that down a few notches. Strings are fine. Should have asked what they are but it doesn't really matter. Tone is pretty Musicman like, but blimey I need to back off the active. I mean, the centre detent is higher than I'd ever use for bass, mid and treble. Taking it down to bass 2/10, mid 2/10 and treble 5/10 and backing off the volume gets you a rather pleasant sound. This is just the job. More than adequate for any of my needs. BUT that means the one-in, one-out rule will be put into action this weekend. My '89 Stingray will be going on the market. I'll miss owning it, but I won't miss the bass itself.
  14. But if it includes 40s RnB and jazz it's double weird. Ska and blue beat evolved from RnB and mento being squashed together. I bought the book anyway🙃
  15. Do you have scope to improve fitness? I know I do - last night I did some jumping and realised I was getting breathless - I know I need more exercise, so it's time to strap the knee up and get back on the bike...
  16. I'll need to re-read the book, but I think it took the soundsystems 'Bass Culture' as the starting point - and they didn't tend to play Calypso and Mento as they were more of a live band sort of thing and Bass wasn't much of a factor for them.
  17. It's a very small world! I was searching on the web for information about TE amps and found stubmandrel.co.uk That story about the castors is just a little bit scary. Right now this is the top of my list. Looking at other camera angles I think I can get used to the differing widths of head and cab. It's right at the top my budget (over actually), but as the lovely Mrs.C is happy to have my amp in the lounge, this un-gigged example seems a good punt. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226888373496
  18. Calling @cetera
  19. American Specials were a mix of parts manufactured partly in the USA and partly in Mexico. . They used to be called the Californian Series and then changed the name to American Special, then to The Highway One series. Fender do this from time to time. They were sold for a price somewhere between the cost of a MIM and USA bass. I have a friend who owns a Californian Series Strat and it plays and sounds great.
  20. Bumping to say this is also listed on eBay (if that's ok by the mods)
  21. wicked brian that's lovely really brought it back to life brian
  22. wow brian is that real gold?
  23. Sale only at the minute ideally but could pontentially consider trades ideally with cash my way (via pm obviously)
  24. Soon enough there'll be UBI for everybody. Elon says we've got 5 years max.....
