  1. Past hour
  2. Oh I see now!!!
  3. I haven't been bumping the BB1025X that I have for sale on here as if it doesn't sell by the time the Christmas holidays come, I plan to take it apart, clean it up and change all of the pots and jack and gig it every so often. I've owned a few Yamahas and they were all great basses. I'd still love to find a BB5000/BB5000a in original condition. I keep looking at the one at Bass Bros but the changed pickup puts me off
  4. Now reduced to a Basschat exclusive price of £150!
  5. I love a renovation project! Might just be the camera angle, but the remaining pickup looks like a standard jazz size, whereas the cavities look slim soapbar-sized. What’s going on there?
  6. Hope your repair goes well. You can always have the pickup re-wound with the same gauge wire. Not cheap, but those pickups are definitely worth it. I wish Yamaha offered these (and other) pickups, in 5 string version too (one has to dream big) 🤣 No, seriously, I'd have these in all my bass guitars, other than my Musicman 😁
  7. From the the golden age of Japanese-made instruments.Yamaha basses from this era are a combination of bulletproof construction and top-class design. Well-worth trying to resurrect.
  8. I love the fact you bought it for your front room! Awesome stuff. I can imagine it sounds immense! I’d assume the bulb had gone, what with the age and all. Hopefully you get it sorted easily - will be the coolest living room amp ever!
  9. BOSS VE20 VOCAL PERFORMER in good condition. Fully working pedal. This thing is mental. Too much info to list, but click the link for the manual https://www.boss.info/au/support/by_product/ve-20/owners_manuals/4231ce9a-c57e-4dab-b770-b42304e6e51f/ Free postage to mainland UK.
  10. LANEY RICHTER R115 400 watt cab, 8 ohm on castors, though its not a heavyweight All good though slightly scruffy cosmetically, functions as it should, no faults. Loud ! Its cheaply priced so no haggling 🤪 Collection only
  11. Dammit - free postage !!!
  12. actually used one of these for a small pub gig and was great worked wonders so, would recommend to anyone who wants one
  13. My band have used these since the early 2000s, so they have done a lot of gigs! They still work well and are in good overall condition and come with the much rarer controller. Full disclosure: Two things to note, both of which I am sure can be resolved with a service: i) There is a small tear in one driver that we put tape over a decade ago! ii) One of the 1/4" jack connectors has a somewhat intermittent connection, but if you use the XLRs all is well. Testing is welcome before collection from GU8 (Guildford area).
  14. My pleasure 🙏 Still my best Jazz Bass ever. After lowering the pickups inside the cavities (they were sticking out, and they're SHARP) and also putting shorter screws in the bridge saddle (also painfully sticking out) it is, counterintuitively enough, even more of a killer bass. Just wish it had a skinnier neck. I've been eyeing some 21 fret necks. I might try to adapt one, just to see if it keeps enough if its magic with a neck more to my liking. We'll see. Glad you joined the club on this, such a huge sounding bass. I still keep my flying samurai, skinny neck and all (my 12 y/o's fave bass to play), great tone too (same aggressive Jazz vein), but still not up there with the SuperBass tonewise (less bassy, less glassy highs). The SB500 is sharpness, body, punch and big yet articulate lows, all together, a naturally "boosted" beast 🤘
  15. Lol, not an expert on flight cases at all.. £100 for it - not interested even with the freebiee.. For £50 , especially if it comes with free amp - why not.. 😁
  16. Well I did it! We went to view an AH300 tonight. I took my fretless jazz to try it and it sounded fantastic! Lovely condition, and it came with original manuals, sales receipt and the pedal board. Flippin' heavy though. Sadly my partner bought it for me for Christmas so no playing with it for a few weeks. ☹️ I have a couple of questions - did the 15" cabinets not have Trace Elliot badges? There's no sign it ever had one. Also the electro fluorescent front panel doesn't work, the seller said he thought it was deliberately disconnected, so that's something to look at. Any suggestions where to start with that? Anyway thanks for all the advice and opinions, I'm very happy with it! 😊
  17. As new Behringer NR300 noise gate 1 of 2. A have 2 of these for sale. Both are as new, have their original box and are in good working order. I bought one for each of my pedal boards. They do the job and have a handy mute function which I found incredibly useful. I just needed something simple to cut pedal noise when in the studio and these worked beautifully. They’ve had studio use only. No trades thanks. Price includes shipping to locations within the UK. I took the photos myself and I am blind, so my apologies if they look like they were taken by a drunk person.
  18. Hi what is the weight of this bass please

  21. I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here, but if you're not a Peter Hook fan don't let that put you off. These are fantastic basses in every aspect. The build quality is phenomenal, sound is superb and they play like a dream. Plus, they look even better in the flesh, lovely deep trans red. I can't see mine leaving me any time soon. If you are a Hooky fan then that's just gravy.
  22. Open to sensible offers...
  23. Spoke with the guys at Crimson Guitars today (thanks @Chienmortbb) and they were brilliant. Very helpful and not salesy at all. Think I've made a step forward with this. Will post a proper build thread once things start moving.
  24. Was this a factory fretless or a de-fret?
  25. I used to gig often with my G&L Fallout, before I thinned the herd. Now my 32" Pbass with a Jaguar Squier neck gets played out frequently.
  26. I have one of these, its a rock machine, great build, sound and balance
