Yes. Since the copper plates are there

Totally agree with all that. Maybe it had a jazz neck for a while ? I’d guess at sunburst originally

Cornwall Steve started following PMT and GAK

Blimey, two more of the on line and retail store giants closed down. Another sign of the times 😔 Many of us will have had memories of browsing or buying gear from their stores, I'm sure.

It is a phase shifter. Not all sound quite the same, so it may be a different flavor than the one you have.

I don't know about that, there are plenty on here with a Fender obsession.
-
I was also going to suggest having an own brand budget line, like Thomann and Harley Benton or G4M and their own brand, which might have worked for PMT but probably isn't best suited to @Bass Direct 😁

I remember drooling over the SMX line in '95...

Lekato - I have WS-50s and WS-90s. The WS-50s are smaller but have a bit less battery life (4 hours or so versus 6+ hours for the WS-90s). Available for £40-£45 from Ebay, £35-£40 from AliExpress. I use them for everything - rehearsals, open mics, and gigs. Both of them are switchable between channels in case someone else's dongles interfere with yours.

Count Bassie started following Vintage Trace Elliot Brochures

Old school dub reggae players could get with that I think.

Their track record includes Variaxes, and those of us owning them weren't exactly inundated with updates once they were taken out of production.

Well the PMT I went into on Monday had a massive selection of guitars and amps and pedals, more than most other shops. Drum kits. Lots of keyboards/synths and basses too. Also a good range of PA and mixing stuff too. Never seen any Dj stuff in there.

Well, that’s just fabulous isn’t it. Never heard of them before, but I will be hearing a lot more. Knew I recognised that electric guitar from somewhere. Robert Fripp. Thanks Wikipedia.

My recently delivered JayDee Roadie II Active Bass: I received this in April, But I am just getting to posting images of it, along with the hyperlinks to the demo videos on my channel on YouTube. If you enlarge the thumbnail image attachment, the breakdown of the controls and the specs of the bass is as follows: 34" scale, set-neck design, pickup height can be adjusted from the back, JayDee custom humbuckers and eq system. The pickup selector switch has 4 positions so from back most position to front, the options should be: 1) Off (no LED) 2) On - back pickup only 3) On - both pickups 4) On - neck pickup only The top chrome control knob is volume (self explanatory really, if you give it a tweak) and the bottom is passive tone. Rotary knob is OFF-Bridge pup - Both pups - Neck pup, switch is active passive, two silver knobs are master volume and tone, black knobs are three band EQ. The unboxing video link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUXO28tjwCQ&t=42s The sound demo video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljXTI9NH0kw&t=98s

Yep, was just part of the deal of being a bassist, Trace, Peavey, Orange etc all extremely heavy but that’s what was available.
-
I did impose a 10kg per item limit on all my gear, PA included. I have breached that though, got a GR Bass AT212 which weighs a back-breaking 11.5kg, or about the same as a Trace Elliott handle.

You really know how to make friends here, don't you..!
