  4. Interesting…
  5. This 74 was less than half the price of a 66 in similar condition. And with a Jazz width neck weighing in at just over 8.5 lb. Grateful for the guys at Promenade Music
  6. I can weigh it, I guess, if seriously interested. 'that' is the G&L hard case.
  7. Had one, sold it, shouldn't have sold it, must stop looking 🤣
  8. That's very nice. I tried one recently and really like it so have been keeping an eye out. What is "that" which can be added for £50? I'm not familiar with average weights for 5 string ash body basses. Can you give anything more precise for the weight please?
  9. These are superb basses, my one has been my go to bass for over 20 years and thousands of gigs, fab necks and the Fralins are such warm punchy pickups... I prefer mine to any Fender Jazz I've ever played.
  10. I really would rather not sell this as I searched for it for years but our impending house move forces sale. 2004 Fender USA jazz deluxe in cherry burst with gorgeous flame male top, gold hardware, block inlays, 22 frets and a big upgrade of an East 3 band preamp. It has the skinniest neck, weighs under 4kg, plays like a dream, is in near mint condition including the gold hardware and comes in the original G&G deluxe case. It really is a beauty but I need to downsize. Can deliver or meet up an hour from the Wirral or will post anywhere. Thanks for looking.
  11. Not encountered this kind of thing in many years but for me i find A a bit sneaky. Don't believe i could work with him in any band. Do you and the band all get along ok ? I'd reconsider whether or not A is required in the band. Can B step up and take on some or all of the lead work and if so then adapt the guitar parts to suit one guitarist. Failing that option look for a replacement for A. Dave
  12. 40 stunning seconds of the Dave Holland Quintet from 1985. This is the horn lines on the closing bars of the tune 'Celebration' from the 'Seeds Of Time' album, transcribed for onto bass clef. It's playable but the read is a bit tricksy in terms of changes in bar lengths (at least, that is what I am hearing - I may be wrong). https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/celebration-closing-head-dave-holland-quintet/
  13. Can't recommend these enough. Been using Foundations since 2018 and they're fantastic. https://amzn.eu/d/aRtvKOg
  14. I have a green 4 string G&L jazz I can bundle....
  15. Best off trying the Power Flats or Silencers if that's the case.
  16. David introduced me to InPost lockers. So easy! Why have I never used this before? And he posted a book I did not need, but fancied, and it is all good.
  17. Thanks. I like a bit of Fu Manchu. Id just assumed they'd be in C
  18. Pretty sure Fu Manchu use D standard.
  19. Thanks Alex. I wonder if people just think that it's too cheap to be worth considering. If I was still out there gigging I would be perfectly happy using this little amp. Anyway, time for another bump.
  20. Today
  21. I am 280 miles North again by now. But thanks for the offer.
  22. Even if you are late, you are still welcome.
  23. In the past Ive always tuned down to C or lower for anything heavy. I know where im going when its low but the guitarist im playing with now doesn't want to tune more than a semitone below standard. Its a new challenge for me so ill give it a bash but I need some inspiration. Classic 70's and 80's stuff doesn't really do anything for me (Sabbath being the exception) and were not going to be playing thrash, death or black metal. Has anyone got any recommendations for doom and stoner metal in standard tunings? All I can find is Clutch
  24. Possibly overpriced by 100x https://ebay.us/m/ffFDAS
  25. Kits can produce good results, BUT you need some skills to make the best of them.
