For sale here is my beloved Conklin GTBD-7 7 string bass.

I have to sell it as I have now bought an Overwater Progress 7 string, something I have lusted after since I started playing and I need the cash to pay off my girlfriend who very kindly lent me the money!

It comes with a moulded foam case (more protection than a soft case but with none of the weight of a hard case.

I have upgraded the EQ in this bass with an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp and a Neutrik locking jack, it sounds ten times better than the stock electronics.

It is also fitted with gold strap locks and Overwater medium gauge strings (.22-.134) and has a scale length of 34"

As you will be able to see in the photo it has sustained one ding on the back right shoulder of the bass, this is just a crack in the lacquer and isn't noticeable when you're wearing the bass.

I will deliver within a reasonable distance of the North East of England or courier at the buyers expense, I'd rather people got the chance to try the bass out first though.

I'm looking for £850 O.N.O.

Please don't hesitate to PM me with any questions.

The fretboard is as good as anything else I've owned, great sounding bass especially with the upgraded electronics. The string spacing is very tight too, so it's less of the leap that some ERBs can be.

Hi Andy.
I had a kinda Purpleheart one of these maybe 10 year ago.
I also struggled to sell mine when the time came.
I ended up part ex-ing it against a big Marshall rig, which I sold when I packed up for 5 years.

Staggeringly good bass, but I think it's a relatively specialist market.
Hang on in there and good luck.

PS potential punters,
top guy to deal with, gear really well looked after

PPS.
Someone buy his SWR 750x, I am weakening!!!!!! I don't NEED 750 watts. :)

looks nice, do you get to London? I'm not sure if a trip to Sunderland is feasible for me. I'm moving to London (arrive next Thursday) to do a PhD at Imperial, and will need a bass (I'm lugging 3 guitars from the states but my basses seemed too much to haul over). I guess this is "Made in Korea"? Is it tuned in 4ths usually or like a 7-string guitar an octave down?
