Run Leia Run is my current band - yours truly (bass), Jon (guitars), Bob (drums) and J (singing).

The plan was to be a ska/punk band, but Bob's a big classic/rock fan and Jon is more rock/punk/80's goth. Outcome is a high energy rock-pop-punk thing. Goes down well with audiences over a pretty wide age range.

The results can be heard here -
I'm in a band called Oni. Heavily influenced by Deftones thanks to the lead's obsession with them  I joined in January and they've not got round to updating the Myspace yet but there's some demo tracks on there (featuring the old bassist) so feel free to have a mooch and add us. :)

I like! Good stuff. You definately need to get some of the stuff recorded, mixed and mastered properly. Lots of potential!

Shame. Still cool all the same!
Gosh, I'm starting to blush now  Thanks again
Agreed on that track. Definately my fav' on there!

Hi, well im in a female fronted pop-rock band called 'lounge fly'. To my ears we sound a bit like paramore, meets garbage meets no doubt ish, but check us out and see what you think!

Our influences are really varied as they are mostly classic rock fans and i like funk and disco lol, but the drummer and singer put most of the stuff together anyway.

We are getting great reviews, although mixed response live (im not sure why, maybe too complex to dance to??) although as a new band we are still finding our feet, should we be more punk, more electro etc etc, its early days!

Please go and take a peek, we have a new video on the way next week too, and are always looking to gig swap etc!

website is hear with links to twitter, facebook, youtube etc http://www.myspace.com/loungeflymusic

cheers!
Gaf

My band is called Stringfinger, we play hip-hop/funk/rock, the newer stuff was getting much funkier and lighter until the newest song (which isn't recorded yet).

We get compared to Rage Against The Machine as thats the easiest option for people I think (although most our stuff sounds nothing like them), I'd say influences of Stevie Wonder, The Roots, NERD, RATM, Incubus, Jurassic 5 etc.

I joined about 3 and a half years ago after a while of non bass playing, the others (vocals/guitar/drums) were playing together on and off since they were about 15 and the vocalist was the bassist too, we got a DJ a year or so ago as well.

We are on facebook too if you have a search!

Hi,

I'm AJ, I'm the bassist in my band Maps and Legends. We are a 4 piece band (Vox/Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass, Drums) and met at the University of the West of England when we all started in Sept 2009.

Our music I would describe as Alternative Rock, the lighter side of, now I know that covers a huge area but I'll let you guys judge for yourself. :)

You can find out a bit more about us at www.mapsandlegends.co.uk.

We recently won the UWE battle of the bands competition, the final was held and The Thekla in Bristol, we are now signed to ViperMusic (http://www.vmcg.co.uk/vipermusic/) and are booking in for some recording time in a Universal label studio.

Cheers

AJ

Hey all. At work at the moment but can't wait to get home and listen to some of your music!

I'm in a prog rock band in the vein of Dreamtheater based around Bolton/manchester area. We're on hiatus at the moment due to new born parental duties for me and the guitarist. Its not to bad though becasue we've been doing some recording and below is what we have so far:

http://www.mymusicstream.com/raisingangels

Its part of a 4 track EP and is missin the keyboards and vocals (though we havent got a singer at the moment). Its unmixed henced the 4 or 5 guitar track versions, difference in tone and sound, and very dry. Bass effects to be added later.

I play in a band called Soviet Disco. There's four of us in the band and we're all from Redcar/Marske in Teesside. Me and the drummer are massive Radiohead fans, our singer loves Donovan and our lead guitarist listens to all sorts of stuff when he's not playing Mr Steel at various steel plans around the country.

You can hear us here: Soviet Disco on Myspace

I'm Dan, I play bass in alpha male tea party, a modern, alternative, progish, metalish, indieish, rock three piece. Currently searching for vocals but beginning to book gigs anyway.
Our influences are wideranging and it's pretty pointless to list them, just have a listen.
The demos on myspace went up this week and are the rough live mixes as captured in the studio on the day so still need work on them but we got impatient. Nevertheless they're a pretty accurate representation of the sound we're putting out. :)

I play bass in a band called Case Hardin. We play a mix of Americana, roots & alt-country. It's a new line up & we have strong 3 part harmonies (of which I'm not a part so feel I can say). We have the usual mix of electric & acoustic guitars with bass (upright & guitar) and drums PLUS mandolin & banjo. We play a lot of Art Centre type gigs & have shows coming up in Bristol, Sheffield & a tour of Ireland. Right now we're in pre-production with our next full length album which will be my debut recording with the band.

You can find us on all the usual sites - MySpace, YouTube & Facebook but the link I'll share is http://casehardin.bandcamp.com/ because it has the last two releases on it, in full. All at the risk of seriously overestimating your interest!

I play in an Edinburgh-based post/prog rock band called Midas Fall. I joined in August last year, after most of the hard work was done. We've got a UK Tour coming up in May, details of which can be found on our myspace/facebook or website:

www.midasfall.com or www.myspace.com/midasfall

Good bunch of people and we've all got high hopes of getting far-ish. It'd be nice if you decent people could buy our album when it is released next week - so we could have a chance of recouping some money.

We're on price comparison sites (which is quite funny) but you can buy it from the usual places:

I'm officially between bands at the moment but currently learning a new set by an established blues/rock covers band who have asked me to join. I'm not going to give details at this stage until it's properly sorted as I've been buggered about by failed 'projects' before. I should be gigging from May onwards so stay tuned and I'll divulge more in due course. It's not remotely ground breaking but it'll get me back on the road after over a year off it which is precisely what I need.

I'm in two bands.

As a GUITARIST I play for this band: www.myspace.com/redglory1
Demo was recorded 4 yrs ago so ignore the crappy attempt at basslines, we now have a decent bass player!

As a BASS PLAYER, I've just joined a 6 piece band called 'The Sofa Racers' but as yet no music on myspace.

My band is called The Barking Spiders (see Viz's Profannisaurus for an explanation). We are four fat blokes in our forties only one of which has any hair. It's all covers with a definite lean towards punk and indy stuff although it's not that fixed down. No cheesy ballads, no Summer of 69, you get the idea? The main point seems to be to play very loud.

We are based in the Glasgow area and usually play in rowdy pubs to drunks. Currently actively seeking more gigs if anybody is interested. I'm the new boy (of three years) and have been playing my instrument the least (ten years).
