OldGit
These days you just have to do the Google search first and if there's a band already, anywhere, called that just cross it orf the list and walk away ... Nope Can't have Decades... http://www.thedecadesband.com/ Nice jackets! Nice bass I liked Lush Puppies but then again so did the Lush Puppies http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...endid=134379635 Edited November 3, 2007 by OldGit

Lush was also a rather well known band in the 90's as well. http://www.4ad.com/lush/
MB1
MB1. These are all pretty bad! you got anymore? .......or do i have to vote for one of these? In the words of John McCenroe!......."You cannot be Serious!!!!!!!!" .........MAY WE SUGEST???? Edited November 3, 2007 by MB1
Breakfast
They're all horribly bad but you are a rock covers band so I'm figuring that is your intention. In that vein I've gone for the most horribly bad yet somehow also great "eROCKtion"
E_MaN
They all seem pretty bad tbh....One good Idea is to take the name of a song by another band, like Ten Thousand Thrones or Gravemakers and Gunslingers or something. Btw they're songs by Testament and Coheed and Cambria FYI Edited November 3, 2007 by E_MaN

Buzz
Rock Cake? Rocksticks (as in Sticks of Rock from the seaside)? Chill Until Blue (read off a Carling can)? Hooves of satan however is what I've chosen on the poll.
lushuk
Hi folks thanks for taking the time to vote/respond. Ive run the poll on another board and up to now the results are quite different, strange eh! I think the key must be to vote before looking at the latest results! Like the thread Si put the link to says a band name is nought till its a band name! Thanks again keep voting was hoping for 100 + votes! bnt

There's already been a band named Lush, actually. Now they're a chain of shops selling soaps & bath bombs. The Coffin Dodgers, meanwhile, is in use by another group, here. Paul Cooke
Fat Rascal? a "Fat Rascal" is a traditional Yorkshire rock cake found in Betty's Tea Rooms... HarryPotter
Given your ages and possible appearances, why not something tongue in cheek like 'Middle age spread'. I am allowed to say this as a 33yo BFG (Big Fat Git). Edited November 4, 2007 by HarryPotter
MB1
MB1. Ended up picking ..........Rock Stock And Barrel!......sounds close enough to Cock Rock and Flannel!
andy67
love the name lush, however, already know of a band with that name! what about 'lush of ages'?
lushuk
The band lush finished in 96 so would it matter that much?
stingrayfan
Voted for Lush as it's the most non-descript of the lot and so you won't get tired of it. Avoid puns and play on words like the plague - they sound cheesy and make most people groan. It's not easy picking a band name though - so good luck! Edit: It doesn't matter if there was a band called Lush ten years ago if you're only pitching at the local covers market. It really depends how litigious 4ad feel like being - they've still got CDs in their current catalogue. Plus given the penchant for so many bands reforming, it's probably agro you could do without. MB1
MB1. With the amount of bands re-emerging (apparently through popular demand) it might be seen as somewhat misleading. Not a good idea if the back catalogues still available, theyll still have the name under copyright.
