+1 for rush!! how about something by The Police? a three piece and good pub rock fodder. or... you could get one of those Akai Unibass pedals or similar that can double up/harmonize a guitar part along with your bass..handy for when guitarist goes for solos etc.....

Thanks guys, keep 'em coming.
I'm going to be playing guitar (and singing, God help us) in this band, although bass duties will be taken on by none other than BC's own Boy Thunder (who?).

Already settled on Police, Nirvana, Cream and Green Day songs and Hey Joe too.
Anybody got a cheap Unibass (no, thought so! :) )

I'm going to print that list off, show my drummer and tell him "LOOK THIS IS THE SORT OF THING PUB BANDS PLAY". Then I'm going to run. Prevaricating, arty drummers :)

Hi 3V17C,

Tell me more about the 'Akai Unibass', I've never come across one. I play Bass and do the Vox for a 3 piece Blues band RE: MP3 Links I use an Ashdown rig and fill the bass sound 'very slightly' using the harmonizer, not to much or it just gets foggy. There are times I'd like the sound a wee bit fuller.

A rhythm guitarist in a box :) , now that's a thought. Any web site or uTube clips you can point me at?

Thanks

Oggy

i was going to suggest Never forget you/the noisettes and mercy duffy
but you might struggle on your own
we do both and we do a mean version of Mercy with our lead singer growling in the background and we get to introduce the band and do our solo stints, dead funny when you f**k up at that point lol. let us know when your playing pop down and have a listen

Hi. We are a similar set up, Guitar, Bass, Drums and a non playing singer.
I will sound a bit empty from a 5 piece but you will soon get used to it and should.
from my experience, get tighter than the 5 piece.
Chris_B mentioned Sweet home and Free Bird - Yes that's possible as well, we
do both of them.
You have a few in your list that we do and as we are probably going to be doing
the same curcuit, I had beter not spill the beans but what you have looks good.
What I would say is, that when you have got used to the three of you, almost
anything is worth having a go at, it's quite surprising what can be achieved.
All the best in your new band - tip me the nod when you are up and running and
I'll come and give you a bit of support.

Cheers. :)
