As far as educating ebay sellers is concerned, I submit the following image:

And, here is a horse made in the Matsumoku factory.

Made in Italy by real live Italians! Actually, they're probably dead by now... :) This one's just up the road from me & I had toyed with the idea of dropping £75 on it if it didn't get any other bids. Doubt I will though.

Cheers for the other link, good to see some close-ups. Don't think the pups are original, if they are they must've had badly-trained rodents doing the routing. Really don't like the bodge-job holding the bridge pup in - makes you wonder what sort of mess you'd find where the proper screwholes should be.

Ghersons are a bit like buses - haven't seen one for months and then all of a sudden:

Dodgy neck on this one (although a couple of washers under the truss nut might sort it out) so you might have to buy both to get a player!

I think i'll have a punt on this. £75 is not too much for a bit of my homeland, even with stone-tooled routing.

Fretless-ised Ibanez Roadster.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ibanez-Roadster-Bass...=item4cf520c6d7

I'm sure that it's a lovely bass, but the maple fretboard and light coloured body really don't do it for me.

I used to have one of those... great sound but weighed a ton!
Sadly it is the same one - a pity the seller chose to [s]flip it[/s] sell it on Ebay rather than here.

Lovely bass, I've always fancied trying a p/p arrangement.

You know, if it was the one sold on here, he's just lost out cos it only went for £134 - bargainish!

These two are being sold by our very own Steve Rickwood - who I've known since he was just a skinny lad! If I could afford them I'd have 'em off him!

That's the same as one being modded/restored by a BCer.

Which reminds me - I have an old Jedson catalogue (this bass is a "Model 4457 Two-Pickup Bass" which cost £32.40 new!) and I'd promised ModMachine I'd scan it & stick it on his build thread.

I think £200 is a tad steep for this - they usually go for well under a ton.

What's going on with this then - Gherson tennis? :) Unfortunately Weegieland's a 120-odd mile round-trip for me, which is no laughing matter in a two-ton 2.8 turbodiesel 4x4 urban assault vehicle!

That CSL's a a tiny bit closer though. And a bit more Japanese...

Gah it's the gherson jazz again! It's the fourth (?) time it's been spotted doing the rounds. Someone must have bought it off the ebay auction and then flipped it again on gumtree for a tasty 50% profit...

I'll have it for £80, not £150

There's still this "project" one with the iffy truss-rod:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=180624624425

Might be worth a punt if it stays cheap - a couple of washers might sort it out.
Expensive Track 2 bass. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WESTBURY-TRACK-2-BAS...=item27b8be9ff3
Has a "sustain bar" fitted at the rear of the bridge? Has a what? :)

What he means is that the cheapsh!t bridge fitted to these was bending under string tension (as they all seem to) so someone jammed a bit of steel rod across the back to hold it straight!

Bodged bridge aside, it does look tidy, as far as one can tell - but on recent form it wouldn't sell even if it was £100 cheaper.

Track 2 basses do seem to garner high expectations among sellers. Is there any particular reason for that?

Anyway, back to business. Here's a MIJ (claimed) Columbus fretless Jazz. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COLUMBUS-VINTAGE-FRE...=item2561159beb
