Bass Guitar - Good quality 'soft' case

The GigSkinz range carried by Bass Direct seems to be a decent bridge between the upper end Mono bag, which looks ace but pricey at £130, and your deluxe Warwick bags, which retail around £40.

As soon as i get paid i'm getting one sorted out for my new Precision. They look kinda cool as well - and Mark's a sound guy to deal with!

I picked up a Mono gig bag from Bass Direct and it really is better protection than other gigbag/case I own with the exception of my Anvil flightcase.

Expensive, yes, but so are my basses!

If so, then it will fit all of my basses.
Dont forget our Laklands have stubby head stocks. I find my DJ5 (and 55-01 before) will fit all the cases ive ever had. Thats not to say they will fit everything but they are slightly shorter than some 35" basses.
I've used one of the Ritter bags for 3 or so years now and it has never let me down. Not exactly sure which model it is, but it was the most expensive one in the guitar shop, with the most padding and a little velcro strap inside it to secure the neck.

+1 for Ritter!
yes..get the super padded one...they do various grades

I got one recently with my DJ5. While its a very nice bag the padding behind the body creeks as if it was made of bubble wrap. Quite embarrassing when walking along a quiet street.
Its become obvious to me that sometimes I dont need the hardcases I have. Certain gigs require the entire band in one large car with amp heads, guitars/bass and basic drums.
I'd have thought this situation was exactly when you would want a hard case rather than a soft case. I'm in the same situation and it's nice to know that nothing will get damaged if the load shifts, e.g. a heavy combo decides to topple on top of the bass.

I've always preferred hard cases as well, for as well as the protection offered, your bass always comes back out of the case in tune, just as you left it.

I do have one very good gigbag. It's almost semi rigid & only £25-30 retail usually. Made by Boston.

We only take 2 Marshall amp heads, and my LM3 in its bag....the drum breakables go on the bottom.

Problem is, my hardcases are big. The new Fender cases are very protective, but large!
