What's the difference between the LG & LM series?

Is the body shape more 'modern' on the LM?
LG basses 60's era wood combination, alder/rosewood
RA basses early 70's wood combination, alder/maple or rosewood
LM basses 70's wood combination ash/maple or rosewood
1600 Limited basses are Jimmy's take on exotic tops and variations of the above.

Copollo basses are all full size Jazz body's not modern as in the Sadowsky shape.

This the dude? includes dodgy vocal - though you knew that...

As far as I'm aware (from discussions on Talkbass), it appears that Jimmy is now building Js with oversized bodies! The idea seems to be going down very well with some US players. I'm not a fan of big bodied basses myself, however, I've noticed that my AC (an LG4 - a full size Jazz body as BossHog indicates) actually feels and looks quite small and compact. I'm not sure just what Jimmy is adding in terms of dimensions (depth of body or more?) but I can see that the idea could work without compromising the feel, comfort and aesthetic of a Jazz

I was half asleep after a long day at work and woke up part way through one of his songs, glanced at the screen and immediately noticed an AC in centre screen.

That woke me up but I'm afrtaid Rod sent me back to sleep very quickly!

Further to my last, Jimmy Coppolo is producing a Jazz with a slightly larger body, apparently it's about 1/4" bigger all round. I think it's for 5 strings (mainly) to achieve greater visual balance given the width of the neck. Full details appear in the Alleva Club thread on Talkbass
There are plenty of ways around that the Molan. Frieght forwarding companies, compliant friends etc.
At that price I reckon it'll sell to a 'local' buyer as he's requested.

I used to have a great US friend who would buy stuff for me & ship over but they got fed up after one bass was mis-delivered by UPS about 3 times 7 they ended up having to drive 2 hours each way to collect from a depot :)

I've heard a rumour that two more Allevas are heading over to the UK and straight into the hands of BC'ers.

A burgundy mist KPB4 with roasewood board and matching headstock and a sonic blue LG4 with dalbergia negra board and also with matching headstock :)
