As you mentioned @Woodinblack I also think the best carrying solution would be an 88 keys keyboard bag like this one that you certainly already noticed.

https://www.thomann.co.uk/gator_gkb_88.htm

That said, I had a similar issue finding a gig bag for my Leduc U-Contrebasse 6 EUB, which has a quite similar length and ended up buying an unbranded Eminence EUB gig bag at Gollihur as they had one at a very very very decent price back then.

I can measure its inner dimensions if you want.

I’ve only just found this thread and felt I should jump in. I’ve got a through-neck Jazz 5.

I can only assume you tried to load pics of the bass but the mods removed it because they didn’t think we could cope in the trouser dept? It’s understandable!

My first "proper" Sei, back in the late 90s, was a 4-string with a beautiful ziricote top. Ended up selling it back to The Gallery after being unemployed for a while, unfortunately. I'd love to track it down, it was a beauty and sounded amazing (it had original Lane Poor pickups in it, with the Schack circuit).

I also had this one for a while - it's a Flamboyant fretless with an ebony top, and Wal pickups and electronics. It was a phenomenal bass. I sold it to finance our first international move, and I really miss it.

I had this bass made for me by Martin in about 1995!

Where does Martin find those woods! No other builder seems to do exotic like they do.

I owned a Sei for a short while many moon ago (time stamp on these pics say it was 20 fecking years ago...Wow),Sold all but one my basses and guitars to get the Ca$h together to buy it (as i recall it was £1250 off of ebay from a guy in blackpool)

I Sold after i got the self building bug to buy a load of wood working tools/gear and wood to start building my own stuff.....have to say It was a fantastic feeling/playing (& looking) bass with the highest craftmanship i've seen...but the Barts/Preamp seemed to lack any punch and i couldn't get anything like the grit i could get from my Spector/TP (which was the only bass i kept)...

Pics (in case anyone recognises it !)... i had the matching Buckeye knobs made by a guy in the USA (£75 for the set, that's not something i be willing to pay for these days! (just because i could cnc them myself )

Roger (Mr THG Knobs) did some absolutely outstanding work on Binky (my 10 string bass) during its build. He did the truss rod cover, the knobs and the tuners. That was 20 years ago but the truss cover is still on his website.

I only know that it has a birdseye maple fingerboard, that was the only thing i specced. I also asked for a body that was slightly wider than the standard Flamboyant 4 string...

it looks incredible. If I was to go down the luthier build route again, I know rather than dictate the wood top I’d be enquiring with what they have first. Sometimes they have something extra special that can surprise you.

Well, as i have no experience with building basses, I told Martin how I wanted the bass to sound and play & asked him to use his expertise in selecting the best woods for that purpose, rather than me choosing random woods because they look pretty. Same with the electronics, I did specify a John East preamp (which he agreed would work well with the woods) and then he's going to look into some soap bar pickups that sound best with the John East and match the tone i described.
