This kind of thing does happen here unintentionally from time to time. I thank @bass_dinger for acknowledging my attempt to rectify the situation and exit with some degree of grace. 1 Quote
neepheid Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Well, having been out of the running for many months now, I would just like to say that I am making plans to acquire the parts I need for one last mod project, then I'll intend to go into gear hibernation and have a stab at a successful participation in 2026. 1 Quote
Maude Posted December 3 Posted December 3 I've just realised it's December, on the home stretch now. Well done to all those still in. 2 1 Quote

Nearly there folks! Looking for something completely different I found the above advice from @Geek99 to a 15 year old posting in the Introductions thread in 2020. As he never posted after mid 2021 I assume the young man took the advice. Or post-covid discovered beer and girls and gave up the bass? 2 Quote

Or, maybe, the sheer dread of not being allowed to be a shop-o-holic buying gear with the enthusiasm of a kleptocrat’s wife let loose in Harrods’ with their nation’s entire national budget was simply too much to bear? Chienmortbb Posted Monday at 12:30 Posted Monday at 12:30 @Geek99 was right all those years ago about my gear being way above my ability. I don’t need another bass BUT the current shoulder injury needs a shorter scale length. If you listen carefully you will hear SWMBO’s howl as a Shorg Scale drops through the letter box (I know it won’t fit really) 3 Quote
Geek99 Posted Monday at 16:45 Posted Monday at 16:45 (edited) 🤔 geek99 was right? no one ever says that… Edited Monday at 23:20 by Geek99 1 Quote

knirirr Posted yesterday at 08:49 Posted yesterday at 08:49 Somehow I have managed to not buy any basses, but there was one more tier 2 failure (a Fender Jaguar, for playing jazz on). 1 Quote
ezbass Posted yesterday at 09:09 Posted yesterday at 09:09 Beyond the end pin stand for my EUB (tier 2 fair at best) I have bought nothing you can actually play. This means at least 2 years without any new instruments. What is wrong with me? 🥺 3 Quote

Unfortunately it’s not through lack of GAS though, so you must have a disease 😂 1 Quote

Unfortunately it’s not through lack of GAS though, so you must have a disease 😂 September ‘23 for me. I bought a classical guitar in early ‘24, but that’s it. It’s not like I don’t have GAS at all, far from it, but my will power is much improved. Well, that and being in the middle of nowhere, with no bass outlets less that a 90 minute drive, each way. There’s a Maruszczyk fretless P type at @Bass Direct that has caught my eye ( https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/maruszczyk-jake-4p-fretless-red-trans-gloss/ ), but that’s a 10 hour round trip drive at least (I have trade ins I’d need to do) and I’m also tempted by one of those SBMM Ray2s. Still 3 weeks to go to fall off of the wagon . Edited 17 hours ago by ezbass 1 Quote

Richard R Posted 13 minutes ago Author Posted 13 minutes ago (edited) I might have to drive over and try that Rinaldis EVO FX5. I have absolutely no money spare, but I am really curious to know what they are like. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/rinaldis-evo-fx5-pre-owned/ Edited 9 minutes ago by Richard R Quote
