Ashbory bass - Fender licensed version - Red
£250

Ok, so here is a weird one, Silicone strings, fretless, 18" scale length, dogbone body. Designed to be a convenient alternative to the upright bass that apparently some session players used in the 80's? This is one of the later 'Fender' licensed versions that I bought from the forum several years ago. Haven't used it much so off it goes.

Overall in very good shape although I have unfortunately added a chip in the front edge - See pics.

Comes with the original soft case and a few spare strings

Identical to the one demoed here:

Nice little article here:

Difficult to price as I can't seem to find any others for sale at the moment so I've listed it as £250, but will listen to near offers.

Very happy to demo it here in North London N21 or can post at cost.F5133E9E-EFD5-4E43-BA3D-6F41D2E6A38E_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.870f3eacbbf21a6ba59322f68ee95fed.jpeg82894076-C6B0-4733-88CA-ACBAFEDD5947_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.8127257954deea1ee3275245a41d7380.jpegFEAE4F31-F3AF-4FAC-A277-5863F8DAAED7_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.0aebbea662dc1fb34a6bd4668407cc6c.jpeg29EAF1FC-4E4C-4883-889E-A2443A2CF9F4_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.cad0a5ef6aa558fb2bb294ce70c634e6.jpeg83478BC3-5EC8-4BF2-92D4-EF06061D7D78_1_105_c.thumb.jpeg.11466d71dedd998ae1f200a0d7b78c4e.jpeg

Use talcum powder and the strings become nearly frictionless. 2 octave slides are a breeze (if not usable).

I used to do that. I also put a tight, rubber band over the nut to dampen vibration. Gave it a kind of analogue synth sound.
