  1. I do agree with you but the point I'm trying to make is that Parcelforce do not offer insurance for musical instruments of any significant value. These are screenshots from Parcelforce website and I am told the same at my local Post Office. £150 is the maximum you'll get paid out.
  2. I'm of no help there tbh. I won't post instruments that have much value anymore. This is due to not being able to insure them. I guess that's why many listings want the buyer to arrange the courier and shoulder the risk themselves.
  3. I'm sure that's incorrect unfortunately. When I sent a bass at my local Post Office I was informed that only basic inclusive compensation is available for any musical instrument (£150 for Parcelforce 24 & 48). This is confirmed on the Parcelforce website. I had to send the bass that day so took a chance and it was nerve wracking until I knew it had arrived safely.
  4. Parcelforce don't offer insurance for something of this value. Musical instruments are on their exclusion list for enhanced compensation. Their website will take your money but they won't pay out if it is damaged.
  5. Labella Beatle Bass Strings Used for at most 30 minutes! I fitted them to a Harley Benton Fretless Beat Bass that I decided I didn't like & promptly returned. Superb strings & they vastly improved the HB as the stock Strings were naff. I also have a set of these on my Tanglewood Violin Bass & it sounds great. Widely regarded as the best Strings for violin basses & there's a couple of demos on YouTube. NB, these are the lighter of the two guages available. Price includes UK mainland postage.
  6. What is the distance from the nut to the bottom of the body? Wondering how it compares to my violin bass.
  7. Fantastic basses these. I have an identical one & I'll keep it forever. I have Labella Mustang Flats on mine & it sounds ace!
  8. Sterling by Musicman Stingray 5 Sub Series. Great bass. Plays well with recent Rotosound strings. In good honest condition with a couple of chips on the edges and a few surface scratches on the back. Also there is one point near full bass where bass signal cuts, this only happens when you're adjusting bass knob & never cuts out once set. It really causes no problem but I do want to mention it. I do have a Retrovibe Stinger 2 band preamp that I bought to replace the original. However, the original really causes no problem so I never even opened the Stinger. I am willing to include the Stinger (£65 at the moment on Retrovibe site) in with the bass for £250. Or £200 as it is. Only selling as I am sticking to short scale now. No trades thanks. Buying another bass today means I need this gone a bit quick. So mainland UK postage now included in the above prices!
  9. Looks great! Are there any scratches on the back of the body or just reflections? Also How's the tone control? The original listing mentions it being scratchy. Cheers
  10. Thanks. As I thought, it's the MIM 60's Jazz. Absolute bargain for somebody, especially with the Nordstrands. Shame I can't justify buying it myself!
  11. I'm pretty sure all these S Serial Samick made Squiers are plywood.
  12. 31 minutes ago, petergales said: I think you would find the build quality of these basses is much better than Fenders. I agree. I have a Mensinger (Maruszczyk) Cazpar short scale (not the one for sale on here btw). The quality & workmanship is fantastic for a bass of any price. These instruments are great value new but unbeatable at the prices they are going for used. Just my opinion but you don't see much negative written about them.
  13. Absolutely gorgeous. I remember looking at this many times on the Bass Direct website. Do you know the fingerboard radius?
