thodrik Posted January 24, 2021 Share Posted January 24, 2021 I have tried a Jabba Custom and thought that in terms of playability, fit and finish it was as good as any other boutique jazz bass. I have a couple of Vigiers and Sadowskys and I put the Jabba I tried in that class. Exceptional. I would definitely like to try one of the Patriot models. The build quality and attention to detail cannot be improved upon! Really top notch. The sound, however, a different story. The Mayo 3-band eq is horrible IMO, and I really didn't like the Delanos (personal taste). So in went Bart B-Axis, and East Uni-Pre. NOW it is the bass I hoped for! Oh, I also have a Vigier. I played a lefty Be4 Gothic once and was very deeply impressed. It had EMG J-style pickups and simple controls (VBT) and it sounded fantastic.
