I have tried a Jabba Custom and thought that in terms of playability, fit and finish it was as good as any other boutique jazz bass. I have a couple of Vigiers and Sadowskys and I put the Jabba I tried in that class. Exceptional.

I would definitely like to try one of the Patriot models.

I have a Jabba Classic 5. I upgraded to birdseye fingerboard, 18mm spacing (which meant Delanos) and their three band eq. The build quality and attention to detail cannot be improved upon! Really top notch. The sound, however, a different story. The Mayo 3-band eq is horrible IMO, and I really didn't like the Delanos (personal taste). So in went Bart B-Axis, and East Uni-Pre. NOW it is the bass I hoped for!

Oh, I also have a Vigier. On par with that!

My lower end stuff has MEC bits in it, which I really quite like.

The two basses in my avatar were built by them and the standard o construction is flawless, as is the playability and sound.
There's definitely another in my future.

( Mine are badged fame, I'll admit that, but they're made by Mayones)

Those Fame basses are incredible value for money, if you consider the price of a similarly specced Mayones Be4 or Be5.

I played a lefty Be4 Gothic once and was very deeply impressed. It had EMG J-style pickups and simple controls (VBT) and it sounded fantastic.

That's exactly right. I bought the six new and got the fretless from here and both feel very special to me.
