<snip>

Bought this here: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/343049-sold-shuker-custom-6-string-bass-with-hiscock-hardcase-excellent-condition-free-uk-postage-or-£25-off-eu-postage-£695/

It's in the exact same condition as I received it. It's an almost perfect bass with a thin (flat) neck and a great modern tone - clear, articulate, and strong. There is however one issue I have noticed - there is an intermittent hiss (noise) that shows up when playing for a while.

I paid to have the bass checked at my local guitar technician shop but he couldn't find any issue in the wiring or connections. I cannot figure if there is some problem in the bass or in my signal chain / rig.

I have decided to sell it as 6-strings are not for me and I need to raise funds for another purchase (GAS strikes eternal).  The bass will ship in the Shuker Hiscox case that I received it in.

The price is what it cost me so far in euros (shipping, technician check, etc.) I have taken into account the price of the previous sale, the 25gbp shipping discount, the actual shipping costs (i arranged it with UPS standard), and other costs incurred.

Borrowing the description from the previous sale (link above):

"This things is an amazing bass, it has dual EMG soapbar pickups which provide a vast array of tones from hi-fi clarity to deep bassy lows. I believe the pre-amp is a Seymour Duncan 3 band, it has Volume, blend, bass, mid, treble controls and works beautifully with the EMG pickups.

The tuners are Gotoh reso-lite tuners and the bridge pieces are individual hipshot mono-rail bridges. Scale length: 34" String spacing: 18mm Weight: 4.5kg Both the top wood and back wood are AAAA quilt maple, it has a beautiful 3D effect and is about as good as you can get from quilt maple!

The body core is mahogany and with 5 laminate neck (maple, wenge, flame maple, wenge, maple). The fretboard is a beautiful piece of birdseye maple and plays as good as it looks. The overall construction is absolutely impeccable, the bass has very few marks on it anywhere, there is one light scratch on the upper bout, but besides that it's almost mint. To custom order a bass like this now would set you back over £3000, so I'm sure someone will get an incredible deal here."

I think it is an incredible deal still.

@ambient, please tell me you got this!

It's a stunning bass and Vic is VERY nice to sell it at the same price I sold it to him for!

It is undoubtedly worth more.

You say that but your 6 string Shuker has been for sale for 3 years...

This is why Basschat is awesome.

Buyer gets a good deal and passes it on for the same price when the time comes. Nuff respect.

      Hi!
Spector Euro 5 LX in black for sale here. Serial no NB5640, produced in 2006 (according to guys from Spector company). It has maple/alder/walnut body, maple neck, brass nut & bridge. Powered by 2x EMG 40DC pickups + EMG BQC preamp.
Included with this bass: 2x EMG 40J + 1x EMG 40P pickups, modded TonePump preamp (18V, added stacked bypass, one pot needs to be replaced unfortunatelly...), and SKB case.
The polish has many scratches due to heavy gigging by me & previous owners. Other things are working well - electronics are fine (original pickups, preamp installed in 2017). Truss rod, bridge, tuners - all are working fine.

ON HOLD - EMG 40HZ set (passive) taken out of a Spector Rebop 5 I had a while ago. Fully working when removed, reason for removal was installation of active EMGs. Some light wear but nothing major, the HZ part of the logo is slightly more worn than the EMG part. £40 posted (UK), international would be more (can get a quote for any interested parties).
EDIT: Forgot to mention, unfortunately I don't have the pickup screws for these. SECOND EDIT: Found them!

So that shuker I bought recently isn't right for me, the neck and the string spacing is too big for my hands, and the number of strings is just confusing to me, but one thing I realised is how the quality of the build was.
So with quite a bit of talking to Jon, selling my stick and a few other things, and a longing that has been with me since the LBGS in 17, I present something that pretty well everyone who went to the LBGS in 2017 will probably remember.

Shuker Uberhorn, 33" neck, 17mm spacing, delano pickups and john east pre. Weighs about nothing!

I bought this lovely Jazz from Burns-Bass (great guy by the way) a couple of months ago and it's made me want to upgrade to an American Standard Jazz (or similiar). I paid £400 with a decent gig bag (Thomann) included which I thought was great value, so I'm discounting a little at £380. It's strung with Daddario super-light chromes and it sounds, well, like a Jazz oughta. Personally, I love the simple elegance of the white body and the maple neck. The bass is in great condition. The most noticeable nick is on the back which you can see in picture 9. Other than that there are a couple of tiny marks (not chips) on the edge of the body, but hard to see as the pictures show. The serial number is MX1799804 which dates it to 2017-2018 I believe. I think this generation of MIM Jazzes offers incredible bang for the buck. Everything is standard. Ideally, I'd like the new owner to collect, but given I'm in deepest Somerset I'm also happy to courier at the new owner's expense. Really looking for a sale, but if someone was interested in trading for an American Jazz plus cash I'd certainly be interested in talking. Not really a sunburst guy - prefer simple colour combos like, well, this one. Thanks for looking, all the best Richard.
