The participating shops tend to be specialists in bassoons and cellos rather than electric/electronic instruments though. And there are limitations in what you can buy; I think computer-based instruments don't qualify, nor do amps and speakers. It's been a few years since I looked though, might have changed. dumelow Posted January 20, 2009 Share Posted January 20, 2009 nah you can get amps, basses, guitars etc. i think its just PA equipment and computer music equipment if i remember rightly. it explains everything on the take it away site. im quite lucky, ive got a shop on the next block from my girlfriends house that do the take it away thing, even though theyre not listed on the website. Instead of buying the bass straight up, with interest free installment inflation means you can probs save about 5% of the instrument cost. agroupuk Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 I spoke to Dolphin about it today (was possibly buying a Warwick Corvette...) but they mentioned that it had to be done in store - although I could do everthing over the phone - they would make sure it would go through - then sign and pick up the instrument in store. A local music store to me (Market Hoarborough Music) are participants and they said they could order in a Stagg in the relevant colour and still be eligble fo rthe scheme. Basically, you pay a 10% deposit followed by the balance in 9 equal payments. So for a £360 instrument, you pay 10 £36 installments, and you get the thing up front! You can put any deposit from 10%, but need to leave at least £200 on finance. Great way to spread the pain of GAS!!
