What amp?

Hi guys,
After years of drooling I now have found my Holy Grail of basses, a 1997 Sadowsky Blue NYC and a Sadowsky Sunburst Metro PJ.
I currently play through a Mesa M3 Carbine 1x12 combo.
I have no need for a wall of sound as all the band are di'd and use iems.
Here's the thing, the Mesa is way too difficult for me to control, the master volume is so sensitive it seems to go from 1 to11 with a 1mm turn of the master volume!
So I've decided to move away from a valve pre amp and go back to solid state.
I have an Aguilar DB212 CAB  300w 8 ohm waiting for the right amp.
I was thinking that an all singing and dancing tone circuit wouldn't be needed as the Sads have such great in built pre amps.
Does anyone have any advice?

Ive used a Quilter BB800 before, amazing little things and so easy to set. Also weighs the same as a packet of Hobnob biscuits! I shouldn't have sold it to be honest, great little back up amp too! I have a DB751 for big gigs but also use the Orange 4 Stroke 500 which is excellent too and not that heavy. Not a fan of the Tonehammers, never dialled in the right sound for me but others love.

If you want simple, toneful, loud, versatile, reliable, light and compact, then I'd second the Quilter BB800.  They are also very competitively priced.

Frank.

Another Quilter fan here.  I bought it primarily as a back up to my Trace Elliot amp (and previously my Mesa Boogie) as it is so small and light but often find myself choosing it.  It is very simple to use, sounds fab and ridiculously loud.
