I do appreciate originality in design. But sometimes it works and sometimes it ... doesn't.

I'm not too knowledgeable on Burns basses, so I couldn't compare them. I'm off to google images search them out though.
A friend of mine has one and I think my Encore is better constructed.

Whereas the one depicted is a "copy" of the Scorpion, itself a cut-up Bison...
I think the original Scorpion had the 3 single-coils like the Bison, not that P/J lash-up.

The one in the picture at the top is one of the original production Scorpions, though the early/protoype ones might have been a bit different. I remember an article and brochure in IM&RW when these first appeared which, as far as I recall, had brass rather than chromed plates on. Maybe there were other differences as well.

 Back in the mid-late '80s I bumped into Jim Burns a couple of times
in the Angel pub (behind tin pan alley).
He was a happy drunk . All I can remember in the drunken conversations we had,
was talking about 'Hawaii steel metal'. (he was talking about building Hawaiin guitars.
Me being metalhead at the time)..Did I spell Hawaiin right :)
