Snapshot of the first Rubber Band tour, supporting Parliament and Sly Stone........ what a line up. I just love the happiness oozing from every pore of Bootsy's sweaty a&s body on this. The purest of funk for the funk purist.

Yep, funk for funk's sake - and that's plenty for me.

There ain't nobody funkier than Mr Collins!

In fact, the S.I units of both Cool and Funk are measured as fractions of a Bootsy...

Not sure if you’ve had this one, great intro

Loving this. Chocolate City records put out some great funk BITD (I don't know if you can abbreviate 'back in the day' - well I just did) 🙂

Black Octopus is a great album. One of the best-engineered records I've ever owned.

Bit of mellow GoGo

I love me some go-go, especially if Chuck Brown or Trouble Funk are involved. Not used to hearing a Stingray in the mix though. Nice.

João Peña on the bass. 100% doing it for me for nearly 40 years. Obrigado.

Ronnie Garrett's bass sound blows my mind on this song. I won't give up until I can play this like that.

I've loved this since it was released. That's not changing. This bassline gets better the more I listen,

I'd liked to have blindfold tested BCers on this thread to guess who played this track. I think people would have immediately said Average White Band. Hard to think it's the same group who played on songs like Leader of The Gang!

Dodgy song title, but this has got loads going on. Like you say, this has shades of AWB - and I like it a lot. Thanks for airing this hidden gem.
